MEDUSA - Airborne Maritime Surveillance System

Optimare - Model SLAR - Side-Looking Airborne Radar

The OPTIMARE Side-Looking Airborne Radar (SLAR) is a cloud-penetrating imaging X-band radar for day & night airborne maritime surveillance. SLAR has been the standard and prime technique for airborne oil spill surveillance since several decades. The lightweight OPTIMARE SLAR with its outstanding performance and its unique ultra-thin antennas maintains a superior position and is the SLAR solution of choice for a modern airborne maritime surveillance system.



Optimare - Model IR/UV - Line Scanner

The IR/UV Line Scanner is a standard sensor for airborne oil spill monitoring. It is capable of visualizing relative oil spill thickness in qualitative terms: no oil, thin oil (thickness ≈ > 0.01 micron), thick oil (thickness ≈ 1 micron ... 50 micron), very thick oil (thickness ≈ > 50 micron).

Optimare - Model VIS - Visible Line Scanner

The OPTIMARE VIS Line Scanner is an auxiliary tool for various airborne remote sensing applications including airborne maritime surveillance. The ruggedized and lightweight sensor is used to acquire highly resolved geo-referenced Red/Green/Blue composite images. These images can be used for scene documentation and volume estimations based on oil appearance codes.

Optimare - Model MWR-P - Ultra-Compact Imaging Airborne Microwave Radiometer

The MWR-P is OPTIMARE’s third generation scanning microwave radiometer for day & night airborne analysis of oil spills in terms of thickness distribution and volume. Two decades of experience in multi-frequency microwave radiometry enabled OPTIMARE to develop a microwave radiometer with roughly one-half in volume and weight compared to its predecessor. The new MWR-P makes airborne pollution analysis possible from a large variety of airborne platforms.



Optimare - Model LFS-P - Compact Nadir-Looking (Non-Scanning) Airborne Laser Fluorosensor

The OPTIMARE LFS-P is a compact nadir-looking (non-scanning) airborne laser fluorosensor for day & night oil type classification. OPTIMARE’s fourth generation laser fluorosensor was designed to be operated routinely as a part of a modern airborne maritime surveillance system. More than two decades of expertise as well as progress in opto-electronics and laser technology enabled OPTIMARE to develop a laser fluorosensor with roughly one-third in size, weight, and power consumption compared to its predecessor, the LFS Light. The instrument is low-maintenance due to its ruggedized set-up and its liquid-free cooling system.

OctoPod - Unique All-In-One Belly-Mounted Airborne Surveillance Pod

The OctoPod is a unique all-in-one belly-mounted airborne surveillance pod jointly developed by OPTIMARE and its parent company AERODATA. It enables multi-sensor-based airborne surveillance operations while minimizing space consumption and costs for aircraft modification and certification. The OctoPod can be equipped with up to eight sensors.

Optimare SpillWatch - Non-Contact and Optical Sensor

The OPTIMARE SpillWatch!® is a non-contact, optical sensor for real-time around-the-clock detection of oil leaks and spills for various industrial applications. A timely alert enables countermeasures not only limiting damage to the environment but also reducing cost for remediation and clean-up. The OPTIMARE SpillWatch!® sensor is installed downward-looking, up to 10 meters above the surface. We also offer the long-range variant OPTIMARE SpillWatch!® LR for an increased measurement distance of up to 30 meters.

The OPTIMARE Precision Salinometer (OPS) is a unique and easy-to-use instrument for highest precision measurements of the salinity of ocean water. The instrument is robust against environmental conditions and can be used in the lab or at sea without compromising the precision of the measurement. Touch-screen and USB / Ethernet connectivity allow communication with the OPTIMARE Precision Salinometer.
