Air Quality Testing & Analysis Services
With over twenty years of experience in air sampling and analysis, Pace® offers a comprehensive air quality analytical services program in accordance with methods specified by the US Environmental Protection Agency and state regulatory agencies. Our air laboratories are DOD and NELAC certified, AIHA-LLP / ISO 17025 accredited, and hold state certifications where required.
Asbestos Testing and Analysis Services
There are six kinds of asbestos, which are naturally occurring, fibrous, heat resistant minerals. Due to their strength, flexibility, and resistance to heat, these fibers were once used extensively in building materials. Asbestos exposure can lead to illnesses, including COPD, lung cancer, and mesothelioma. Due to its dangerous nature, building materials must be tested for asbestos prior to removal. Aerobiology has four laboratories that are accredited by NVLAP (EPA 600/R-93/116) for PLM analysis of bulk material for asbestos: Virginia, Phoenix, Denver and Huntington Beach. Additionally, Virginia and Denver offer PCM analysis for asbestos fibers in air samples.
Air Testing and Monitoring for COVID-19 and its Variants
Airborne transmission of COVID-19 and its variants in enclosed spaces plays a significant role in rapid outbreaks of COVID-19, most recently with outbreaks of the more infectious Delta variant. As society returns to pre-pandemic activities, expanded monitoring of environments will be key in providing useful insights into virus presence and the potential for spreading. SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is a single-stranded RNA virus and part of a group of viruses referred to as coronaviruses. Pace Analytical® monitors and analyzes air samples for coronavirus and variant RNA, the genetic signature of a virus. Fortunately, there are several actions that can be taken to help lower the risk of COVID-19 exposure and spread such as quantitative air testing and monitoring for early detection of COVID-19 and variants in enclosed spaces.
Bedrock Sampling and Analytical Services
Building on extraordinary growth in understanding of the processes governing fate and transport of contamination in subsurface systems, Pace Analytical® provides a unique and powerful approach to the investigation of fractured bedrock contamination. Pace offers these services to the industry via an exclusive licensing agreement with the developers of this technology, Beth Parker and the University of Guelph.
Bioassay Testing Services
What is a bioassay? A bioassay is the measurement of the concentration or potency of a substance by its effect on living cells or tissues. This test determines the relative strength of a substance by comparing its effect on a test organism with that of a standard preparation. For environmental testing, bioassays provide an integrated picture of overall toxicity of an effluent or a sample of water, sediment, or soil from a contaminated site.
