Our U panel jumbo bags are made by taking one initial piece of 100% polypropylene, which forms the base and two sides in the distinctive U-shape. Two additional side pieces of the same polypropylene are then sewn onto the other sides of the U-panel to form the final product.

Type A bulk bags are the industry standard used for the most common applications of storing and transporting dry goods for all industries including: agriculture, landscaping, construction, and many others. Manufactured with conventional woven polypropylene, they do not have any mechanism for dissipating static electricity and will not prevent highly energetic and dangerous propagating brush discharges. 4 reinforced lifting loops on each corner allow the bag to be moved with a forklift.

Type B bags are constructed from insulating fabric but have a breakdown voltage less than 6 kV.  This provision prevents the risk of energetic propagating brush discharges which can ignite dust-air mixtures and flammable gases and solvent vapors.  Type B bags may be used in the presence of the combustible dusts with MIE of greater than 3mJ, but only in the absence of flammable vapors of gases.  Type B bags are sometimes called antistatic bags, but it should be noted that Type B only provides limited protection against static electricity and they do not provide any mechanism for dissipating static charge.

FIBC type C bulk bags are made to prevent dangerous static discharges and sparks by grounding the bag itself during the filling and discharge process. This is made possible by a network of conductive tapes woven into the fabric. This is why type C FIBC bags are used to safely transport flammable powders and can be used when flammable solvents or gases are present and the bag is properly grounded.

Palmetto Industries is a selective manufacturing licensee of Crohmiq® fabric for Type D Crohmiq Bulk Bags. Crohmiq® bags are constructed from static dissipative materials to control fire-starting of discharges, without the bags being manually grounded, thus eliminating the risk of human error. The Crohmiq® static protective FIBC fabric safely dissipates charges into the atmosphere by a process called corona, providing safety to the employees working in proximity to the bags.
