Environmental Site Assessments Services

The environmental engineers of Pare Corporation can provide environmental site assessments, from performing historical site review and investigations (Phase I); developing and implementing sampling and analysis programs (Phase II); to the development of plans for site remedial action and contaminant mitigation (Phase III). Our personnel have significant experience assuring project compliance with federal regulations as well as the requirements of states throughout the northeast. Our environmental site assessments for commercial real estate are conducted in conformance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM Standards E1527 and E1528). PARE has the experience, technology, and personnel to carry out the `cradle to grave` management strategy required for dealing with hazardous waste and materials in the environment today.

Planning Services

PARE has provided a wide variety of planning services for our clients.  PARE`s planners combine transportation and municipal planning tenets to produce smart growth solutions for efforts such as land use planning, urban revitalization, harbor management plans, wastewater facility plans, zoning, design guidelines, and more.

Solid Waste and Recycling Services

Given the growing demand on limited resources and the lack of readily available sites for sanitary landfills, solid waste management and resource recovery are increasingly complex and significant engineering challenges. The engineers and planners at PARE possess a unique combination of skills needed to address the challenges of solid waste management and resource recovery. PARE has provided complete planning and design services for municipal and private landfills, transfer stations and recycling facilities, as well as regional and state resource recovery facilities. PARE’s involvement with landfill facilities since 1974 has led to our expertise at a variety of levels.

Water and Wastewater Services

The environmental engineers of Pare Corporation have been engaged by water suppliers, wastewater managers, and individual clients throughout New England for our expertise in potable water supply and wastewater management. PARE has remained on the cutting edge of emerging technology in the waterworks industry, including the development and refinement of computer models of water systems, and the use of these models to complete in-depth hydraulic evaluations. With clients ranging from some of the smallest rural community water systems to some of the largest water systems in New England—some serving hundreds of thousands of customers—PARE has built its engineering practice on long-standing relationships.  A number of New England communities consider PARE their “Water Engineer.”

Geotechnical Services

PARE engineers utilize state-of-the-art investigation, testing, and analyses to address a broad range of geotechnical issues. We have successfully completed a variety of geotechnical engineering projects, ranging in size and complexity from subsurface investigations for simple foundations to the design of a 1,500,000-cubic yard earth containment structure to create a new port facility.Geotechnical investigations and design services are provided for building foundations, retaining walls, braced excavations, dams, waterfront improvements, site feasibility studies, hazardous waste site assessments and remediation, and more.

Planning and Engineering Services

PARE provides a full range of planning and engineering services associated with land development and site improvement projects.  We are experts on the requirements of large-scale commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential developments, as well as smaller projects.  We can provide assistance with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System for site design and stormwater management. PARE has been responsible for the planning and design of over $1.5 billion worth of site development projects. Regardless of the project size, PARE recognizes overall project success is highly dependent on sequencing, scheduling, and regulatory compliance.  Our ability to meet the needs of our clients is based on our full-service, in-house capabilities.

Structural Engineering Services

From vertical construction — buildings, parking garages, and communication towers — to horizontal construction — highways, bridges, and railroad facilities — PARE is able to address all related structural engineering issues. Our expertise includes condition surveys of existing facilities, and the development of rehabilitation concepts, designs, and material applications to preserve these structures. Our experience in the use of materials such as carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, masonry, and timber allows PARE to offer economical designs to suit a variety of criteria specific to each project.

Sustainable Design Services

PARE has embraced sustainable design practices as a corporate responsibility and utilizes many planning, permitting, design tools, and best development practices to enable clients to integrate voluntary initiatives for `Green` development.  PARE`s LEED-accredited professionals assist clients in preparing documentation for submission to and certification by the U.S. Green Building Council under their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.  PARE engineers, planners, and scientists remain abreast of the most current sustainable design techniques and promote these practices within our projects.

Transportation Services

PARE offers transportation planning and engineering services ranging from corridor location studies to design and construction-phase services. These services include the study and design of roads, intersections, bridges, bikeways, and railroad facilities. Our roadway-related work involves rural and limited-access highways, urban streets and circulators, new bikeway facilities, and pedestrian malls.  PARE has conducted numerous traffic and transportation planning studies, as well as both the planning and final design of major bicycle and multi-use trails, pedestrian facilities, and associated recreational facilities.  PARE was one of the pioneers in New England in this field of specialty, having developed unique and innovative design standards to address the particular requirements of many individual trails.

Waterfront / Marine Services

With a specialized staff of waterfront engineers, environmental planners, and structural and geotechnical engineers, PARE has played an instrumental role in the development and maintenance of waterfront facilities throughout the Northeast United States. We address all phases of projects in the highly sensitive areas of coastal site development— with exceptional success `navigating` the coastal/environmental permitting process. We design port and terminal facilities, as well as dredged-material containment facilities, bulkheads, revetments, and erosion control structures. We provide a full menu of services to commercial and recreational marinas of all sizes.
