Reactors & Pressure Vessels - Stirred Reactors

Parr - Custom Reactor Systems

Not finding the pressure, temperature, or volume you are looking for? Let us customize a system for you. Parr’s Custom Reactor Systems can be efficiently and cost effectively designed and built to meet your unique requirements. Our experienced technical sales, engineering, and production teams work directly with you to quickly, accurately, and economically proceed from system concept though manufacturing.

Parr - Model Series 2500 - Micro Batch Reactor System

Parr Instrument Company is pleased to introduce our smallest ever family of stirred reactors, available in a number of configurations. With reactor volumes of 5 mL or 10 mL, independent reactor gas filling, PID temperature control, and a choice of two closure styles, the flexibility of the MBS 2500 is sure to bring value to your small volume, high pressure project. Based on the popular Parr MRS 5000, the MBS 2500 offers even smaller volume options, a smaller footprint, a stand-alone control and data logging system, and a lower per reactor price.

Multi Reactor Systems

Parr - Model 4570 Series - High Pressure/ High Temperature Three Reactor Parallel System

This system incorporates three 1.8 L 4570 Series High Pressure/ High Temperature reactors rated for use at 5000 psi (345 bar) @ 500 °C. The reactors in this system are manufactured of Alloy C-276 and are equipped with internal coupon holders to facilitate study of corrosion processes in harsh environments. This application does not require precisely controlled gas delivery; hence individual gas feed vessels are not present, though gas supply and gas vent manifolds are provided. A 4871 Process Controller is also included (not shown).

Parr - Model Series 5000 - Multiple Reactor System

The Parr Series 5000 Multiple Reactor System has been designed to provide an integrated system for running multiple reactions simultaneously and applying the principles of high throughput experimentation to reactions conducted at elevated temperatures and pressures.

Tubular Reactor Systems

Parr - Model 5400 - Continuous Flow Tubular Reactors

Tubular reactors are used in a continuous flow mode with reagents flowing in and products being removed. They can be the simplest of all reactor designs. Tubular reactors are often referred to by a variety of names:

Custom Systems

Parr - Model 4878 - Automated Liquid Sampler

A safe and reliable method for collecting multiple liquid samples from heated and pressurized reactors has been sought for many years. Parr Instrument Company is pleased to introduce the Parr 4878 Automated Liquid Sampler which can extract up to six liquid samples at a user-defined interval without the need for the continued presence of an operator. Controlled through a user-friendly touch screen, a series of precision switching valves allows collection and deposition of samples with consistent volumes into individual vials. The 4878 can operate up to the maximum working pressure of all standard Parr reactors and pressure vessels. A multi-step loop sequence ensures clearing of the reactor dip tube between samples to yield samples representative of the bulk reactor fluid.

Oxygen Bomb Calorimeters

Parr - Model 6400 - Automatic Isoperibol Calorimeter

The 6400 Automatic Isoperibol Calorimeter represents the next evolutionary step in the Parr automated calorimeters. Inclusive and compact, the instrument incorporates a closed loop cooling subsystem into the calorimeter. This subsystem uses a thermoelectric cooler assembly attached directly to a one liter water tank which supplies cooling water to the calorimeter. An external nitrogen pressurized tank is used to supply rinse water to the calorimeter. This model features the fixed bomb and bucket design allowing for automated bucket and jacket fill as well as automated vessel fill and rinse. The 6400 requires one minute of operator time per test, allowing a technician to operate up to four calorimeters simultaneously.

Parr - Model 6200 - Isoperibol Calorimeter

Model 6200 is a microprocessor controlled, isoperibol oxygen bomb calorimeter which is widely used for both routine and occasional calorific tests. It uses the time-tested Parr 1108 style oxygen bomb and oval bucket in a compact calorimeter, producing reliable results with good repeatability, but differing from the 6400 Model in that the bomb and bucket both must be removed from the calorimeter and refilled manually for each test, thereby requiring more of the operator’s time than the 6400 model.
