Fairbanks Nijhuis’ bi-directional turbine offers the best solution to harness energy from tidal streams in a dam type construction. The patented and proven fish friendly design features a speed controlled direct drive, a permanent magnet generator and a fully reversible impeller to maintain optimal performance in both flow directions during a complete tidal cycle.

During loading and off-loading of ships the anti-heeling and ballast system is in full operation and crucial for the duration of the process. Since time is money, ship owners desire a quick turn around when in ports. The Pentair Fairbanks Nijhuis` innovative anti-heeling/ballast BiFlow is the answer to this demand. The BiFlow is a bi-directional, in-line pump/turbine. It is specially designed for the transport of large amounts of ballast water, in situations with limited space.

Our Concrete Volute pump has a reinforced volute housing with an integrated intake suction bell. Depending on the pumped medium the rotating parts can be constructed in either bronze or stainless alloys.

The scope of supply in fire protection consists of pump sets with electric or diesel motors and control units, as well as mobile pump units in containers for use in firefighting systems. All units fully comply with NFPA-20 (up to 7000 USGM/1590m3/h), UL (up to 5000 USGM/1135 m3/h) and CEA standards.

Pentair`s Fire protection line offers a range of Pentair Fairbanks Nijhuis pumps for installation on board firefighting vessels. The pumps are specially constructed in accordance with the latest class I, II and III FIFI requirements with certification according to Lloyd’s, ABS, BV, DNV and others.

Fairbanks Nijhuis mixed flow pumps function as a compromise between radial and axial flow pumps. They operate at higher pressures than axial flow pumps while delivering higher capacities than radial flow pumps.

The Fairbanks Nijhuis vertical turbine pump is an energy efficient and reliable pump, suitable for various liquids and applications. The pump is available with a dry motor installation, in a wide range of flow rates, pressure heads and construction materials.The hydraulic design includes a suction bell, single or multiple pump stages with closed or open mixed flow impellers, column pipes with integrated line-shafts, and a discharge elbow that can be located either above or below the foundation level.
