PentoMuls - Water-in-Oil Technology for HFO Boilers
PentoMuls water-in-oil emulsion technology allows online production of a stable water-in-oil emulsion to increase combustion efficiency and reduce emissions. Firing emulsions in boilers has been researched intensively for many decades. Pentol successfully commercialized this technology in 1997. PentoMuls® mechanically and chemically stabilizes fuel oil to emulsify it with water.

PentoMag is our brand name for a group of magnesium-based products. Using magnesia of different origin and form, we prevent the formation of vanadium deposits and neutralize sulfuric acid. Pentol produces both additives as well as automatic dosing equipment for the protection and efficiency increase of your boiler.

Pentol - Flue Gas Conditioning Plant
Flue gas conditioning is the controlled injection of small quantities of sulfur trioxide into the flue gas stream, reducing the resistivity of the fly ash and permitting its collection in the existing precipitator. When flue gas conditioning is installed on units that have switched to lower sulfur coal, solid emissions are significantly reduced, complying with environmental regulations and utility standards. In addition, dust load in the FGD is reduced, leading to higher availability of the FGD and increased whiteness of the gypsum.A compact, fully automatic flue gas conditioning system is installed without requiring a boiler outage. The reduction in solid emission can be up to 80%.

Sedimentation and Sludge formation can occur in oil storage tanks, oil preheaters, strainers and fuel lines.The main cause of sediment and sludge in oil tanks and fuel oil lines is due to separation of the water content from the fuel oil and when asphaltenes, waxes and other materials flocculate and settle.

Pentol - SO3 Monitor
In power generation, SO3 measurements provide data to allow the operator to burn fuel in the most efficient way to minimize corrosion of the plant and limit acid discharges to the environment. Monitoring of SO3 is also important where it is formed as a by-product, e.g. in De-NOx systems. In processes where H2SO4 is used or ore with large amounts of sulphur is processed, the SO3 monitor can measure SO4 2- ions and show emission as mg/Nm³ or ppm.
