What’s the difference between a dome and hemisphere? A hemisphere is half as tall as it is wide. A dome is less than half as tall as it is wide.

Planet Plastics machining center has three CNC routers with varying capabilities allowing us to meet a multitude of needs. Our precision computerized panel saw is capable of cutting all types of plastics while holding tight tolerances.

A hemisphere is one half of a sphere/globe. Two hemispheres joined together make a sphere/globe. At Planet Plastics we can free form blown hemispheres up to 96” in diameter and 48” deep. When two are joined together the finished product in this example is a 96” (8 foot) round globe.

Planet Plastics is an industry leader in plastic laser cutting and etching. We can cut material up to .750” thick and when cutting acrylic a byproduct of the laser is a polished edge. We have two 450 watt Co2 lasers that can cut sheets up to 48” x 96”.
