Porzellanfabrik Hermsdorf GmbH products
Steatite
This ceramic insulation material is mostly characterized by its hardness and a low dielectric loss factor. Those characteristics combined with big shape diversity and exact processing opportunities are the reason for various usage possibilities - not only in high frequency technology. Beneath supporting insulators and bushings we produce also axes and tubes. They can be manufactured with a diameter of 2 mm up to 80 mm and - according to the diameter - with a length up to 1 m. Supporting insulators are furnished with screw sockets and agglutinated with epoxy or refractory resin according to employment temperature.
SIC Based Products
For application in furnance building we produce Goods made up of clay bonded silicon carbide. Mainly our product range contains plates and casting rings. Another possible application area is microwaving or the application as special parts.
Ceramic Honeycombs
Ceramic Honeycombs For Ventilation Systems
There are many fields of application for our ceramic honeycombs. They are used as heat exchangers in systems for exhaust gas and exhaust air purification technology and room ventilation systems for residential and business premises, but also as catalyst supports. High-quality materials and their special processing make our heat exchangers resistant to chemical, thermal and mechanical influences. High specific surface areas and free cross-sections result in a thermal recovery of up to 95% with low pressure loss. Heat exchangers for ventilation systems consist of densely fired alumina porcelain (NT) and are characterized by their high heat storage capacity. They are available in different geometries, cell structures and sizes and can be adapted to customer-specific requirements if required.
Crucibles
Ladle Crucibles
One problem, not least in the induction heating, is the rapid heating and a resulting temperature gradient in the crucible. Here, the ceramic quickly reaches its limits. There are no problems according to this with our standard material "LT". The specific composition of the material and the ceramic manufacturing technology are the basics to get a crucible with extremely good thermo-shock resistance. The crucibles are usually provided with a special coating that is sintered within the product. The material is suitable for iron and steel as well as many non-ferrous metals and also precious metals.
Alumina Crucible
When it comes to a high purity of the melt, this material is the right choice. The Al2O3 content of 99.7% and a temperature resistance of more than 1700 ° C are in this respect the outstanding properties of this material, whose use is not least widespread in glass melts. In addition to standard crucible sizes up to 5 liters there are about 50 other shapes. The Porzellanfabrik Hermsdorf offers many possibilities for custom-made products.
Porcelain
Regulating Wheels
Owing to their high hardness and abrasion resistance, our regulating wheels, with a diameter of up to 350 mm for external cylindrical grinding machines, are a high-quality alternative to regulating wheels made of other materials and are particularly well suited to mechanical engineering.
Model C 120 - Produce of Porcelain
We use this material during the ceramic slush process. This way we are able to produce small quantities at low costs and provide a huge product range at the same time. Beneath segments which are mainly used in the fiber production sector we also manufacture yarn guides or special insulators at the Porzellanfabrik Hermsdorf.
Oxide Ceramic
Model C 799 - Aluminium Oxide Ceramics
A high operation temperature, great hardness and a superior chemical resistance characterize this material. That is the reason it suites applications in the high temperature or wear protection sector. Beneath alumina crucibles (see here) up to a volume of 5 liters, tube pipes are our main products in the wear protection area. We are able to produce those tubes up to a nominal width of 250 mm and a length of 500 mm. Furthermore we offer big plates and segments. For the fabrication of those products we use the ceramic slip casting technology. This way it is possible to produce even small batch sizes at low costs and providing a great variety of shapes at the same time.
Model Al₂O₃ porous / ZTA 20 - Oxide Ceramic
In the high temperature sector there are many applications where – beneath the temperature exposure – other forces take effect at the ceramics. Mostly those impositions are thermal shocks or temperature gradients. In that case the porous Al2O3 and the ZTA-ceramics (zirconia toughed alumina) are good alternatives to the C 799.
Special Ceramics
Steatite - Model C 221 - Ceramics
Bushings for application in communications and high-frequency engineering. Axles and tubes for application in high frequency engineering (1 - 80 mm diameter, 130 mm max length). Dead-end insulators for the production of aerials (radio transmitters and receivers). Other insulating parts, e.g. pin insulators
