Laboratory Refrigerators and Freezers
Powers Scientific - Model FMS33SD - -20°C Manual Defrost Laboratory Freezer
Packed with enough cooling power to maintain -20° C throughout with ±2°C temperature uniformity, this 25 cubic foot freezer has six epoxy coated shelves to optimize storage capacity and a digital microprocessor to display the temperature. The chamber is sized to slide through door frames and plugs into a standard wall outlet. A floor drain with tubing attached is included for defrosting. Options such as an interior circulating fan for ± 0.5°C uniformity, extra shelves, a door lock, a hi/low alarm with battery back-up or relay, a temperature chart recorder, or stainless steel exterior construction are available. See our accessories page for a complete list of options.
Powers Scientific - Laboratory Refrigerators
Our lab refrigerators offer a simple, effective solution for refrigerated storage. Temperature uniformities of 2-8°C (in single-door models) and 2-10°C (in two-door models and larger) are maintained with an energy-efficient circulating fan. Sizes range from 10 cubic feet up to 79 cubic feet.
Laboratory Incubators
Powers Scientific - 2-50°C Refrigerated Incubators and BOD Incubators
Refrigerated incubators have a temperature range of 2-50°C, ± 1°C in air, measured at the sensor. These versatile chambers can be adapted to create environments requiring vibration resistance, complete darkness, intense lighting, or a combination of variables. Operation up to 60°C is also possible. A microprocessor controls and displays the chamber temperature, and high and low temperature mechanical failsafes protect chamber contents in the unlikely event of a temperature excursion. Head to our accessories page to select options you may want to add to the basic models for your specific application.
Powers Scientific - 30-60°C Non-Refrigerated Incubators
Applications with temperature requirements in the 30-60°C range do not need the refrigeration components on a refrigerated incubator. These heat-only incubators provide temperature control with ±0.5°C temperature uniformity throughout the chamber. Options such as access ports, an Audible/Visual alarm, a chart reorder or many others are available. See our accessories page for a complete list of options.
Protein Crystal Growth Chambers
Powers Scientific - Protein Crystal Growth Chambers
Our protein crystal growth chambers offer a uniform temperature and low vibration environment for optimum crystalline development. Stainless steel trays on glides provide easy access to your samples. The chamber models sit on vibration absorbing pads to isolate them from floor vibrations, and all metal to metal contact inside the chamber is dampened. The condensing unit sits on a shelf or table next to the chamber so no vibration is transferred.
Powers Scientific - Refrigerated Incubators with Vibration-Reduction Package
Refrigerated incubators have a temperature range of 2-50°C, ± 1°C in air, measured at the sensor. These versatile chambers can be adapted to create environments requiring the vibration resistance necessary for applications such as protein crystal growth. These models sit on vibration absorbing pads to isolate them from floor vibrations, and all metal to metal contact inside the chamber is dampened. A microprocessor controls and displays the chamber temperature, and high and low temperature mechanical failsafes protect chamber contents in the unlikely event of a temperature excursion.

Powers Scientific - Rodent Incubators
Our rodent incubators offer a temperature and lighting controlled environment with 0-15 fresh air exchanges per hour (adjustable). The chambers have a temperature range of 6.5-40°C, making them good for both thermoneutral studies as well as cold-exposure experiments. Our rodent incubators are perfect for housing many species of caged rodents or other small animals. For example, rats, mice and squirrels have all been housed in our incubators. Our chambers are built to order, allowing the individual researcher to tailor the incubator to fit the required parameters without paying for features that aren’t needed.
Powers Scientific - Drosophila and Small Insect Chambers
Drosophila and small insect chambers offer a comfortable and controlled environment for breeding, rearing, incubating or experimenting with various insects. Species that are commonly raised in our insect growth chambers include Drosophila melanogaster (the common fruit fly), mosquitos, and sand flies. We offer a variety of sizes, from a 6 cubic foot undercounter unit to a 43 cubic foot 2-door upright model. The full range of sizes offered is detailed in the tables below. Our drosophila chambers are available with 2 different options in terms of refrigeration systems. We offer chambers with traditional R-134a vapor refrigeration in all sizes, and we also offer Peltier thermoelectric coolers on single-door upright models.
Powers Scientific - Model PST52SD - Photostability Chambers
Photostability chambers provide high intensity lighting in the 300-700 nm range at a uniform temperature of 25°C ± 2°C, for Option II Photostability Testing in accordance with the ICH guidelines. Each lamp bank has both black lights and cool white fluorescent lights, arranged to provide a circular area on the shelf below for testing product, with ±10% maximum variance in light intensity. Switches on each bank allow all the cool white lights or all the black lights to be turned off, if desired. A digital timer is included to turn off the black lights when the samples have reached maximum UV exposure (the UV portion of the test is much faster than the visible light portion).
Powers Scientific - Temperature and Temperature/RH Stability Chambers
These stability chambers are designed to provide controlled temperature or temperature and humidity testing environments. These chambers offer FDA and ICH stability testing compliance at a reasonable price. These controlled environments are crucial for product and packaging shelf life stability testing. These accelerated shelf life tests are required in the cosmeceutical, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries, among others.
