Air Classifiers
Prater - Mini Split Air Classifier
The Mini-split Air Classifiers were primarily developed for research “semi-tech” and small-scale production applications. An ideal choice for small work spaces, its low-noise capabilities reduce distractions while its compact size ensures efficient portability. This unique design is flexible enough for lab applications and rugged enough to meet small production requirements. All contact parts of the Mini-split Air Classifier are made from stainless steel, which helps to reduce maintenance costs and downtime while increasing operational life. The unit can be easily converted into an opposed jet fluid energy micronising system with an integral classifier. Operating under suction, Prater units always work to promote a dust-free environment. The capacities of feed and finished product bins can be adjusted to meet individual customer requirements for a truly customized machine that works with your specific needs.
Prater - Model MAC - Air Classifiers
Prater MAC Air Classifiers process dry materials to exceptional fineness and uniformity over a wide range of feed variations. Offering separations from 3 to 150 micron, they are ideal for use in closed-circuit with a conventional milling system or as independent “stand-alone” systems incorporating feeder, fan, and product collection equipment.
Air Classifying Mills
Prater - Model CLM - Air Classifying Mill
Prater’s Air Classifying Mills operates by using the combination of two-stage closed circuit grinding/milling with an interstage air classifier all in one convenient unit. The internal air classifier continuously recirculates particles that are larger than desired back into the grinding zone ensuring an optimal final product particle size. When faced with materials that can be difficult to grind or that require a narrower particle distribution, the unique capabilities of the air classifying mill are often necessary. Large access doors on the air classifying mills allow for quick inspection or cleaning of the main rotor and classifier rotor.
Fine Grinders
Prater - 10-Bar Fine Grinder
The 10-Bar fine grinder is for processing materials in explosive environments such as sugar grinding from (4X to 12X) with a single pass mill. These mills are designed for explosion pressure shock resistance up to 10 bar (145 psi). Ideally, these mills are best suited for heat-sensitive products that require a tight distribution of particle sizes. Other options with these mills include complete bearing monitoring systems that not only measure bearing temperatures and vibration but also high frequencies that allow for early warning and rapid response of premature bearing failure. Both bearings on these mills are conveniently located outside of the grinding zone which allows for the ability to monitor both bearings.
Prater - Model M Series - Fine Grinder
Prater Fine Grinders (M Series Mills) are designed to grind dry, free-flowing material as fine as 400 mesh (37 microns) with a very tight distribution of particle size. The highly efficient design allows for ease of access to all internals and is well suited for heat-sensitive materials such as resins and sugar. Six sizes are available from the 3 HP M-19 bench-scale lab mill to the 250 HP M-101.
Hammermills
Prater - Model G - Full Screen Hammermill
Since 1925, Prater has utilized the most advanced technology and innovative solutions to create state-of-the-art hammermill products that are used around the world. Our exclusive G-Series, Full Screen, Hammermill is specifically designed for applications that require high capacities, power efficiency and uniform particle size. This provides our customers with confidence in knowing that we have the ideal machine for their unique particle reduction applications.
Prater - Mega Hammer Mill
The Prater Mega Hammer Mill is designed to fill the gap between our standard hammer mills and our fine grinders. The Mega Mill provides uniform grinding with minimal heat build-up. A unique cantilevered grinding rotor results in smooth, quiet operation that can be maintained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Prater’s Mega Mills run more efficiently and with less airflow than conventional hammer mills. Our proprietary fabrication results in reduced downtime, low maintenance, and minimal power requirements. You will obtain a higher quality material and an increase in your bottom line.
Lump Breakers
Prater - Lump Breaker
Prater’s Lump Breaker product line is designed to provide a simple, more economical means of reducing compacted materials into smaller, granulated product required for most processing or packaging lines. The Lump Breaker improves product flow for a variety of applications including sugar, salt, chemicals, cereal, kiln dust, resin, pigment, filter cake, pasta, fertilizer, and more. This equipment can be used to reduce natural agglomeration, which can occur during storage/shipping, or reduce material deliberately compacted in densification processing or in recycling or waste disposal applications.
Rotary Airlock Valves
Prater - Model PAV Series - Heavy Duty Rotary Airlock Valve
Our Heavy-Duty PAV Series rotary airlock is an ideal choice for handling many dry, free-flowing powders where a pressure differential exists, such as when feeding pneumatic conveying lines. Constructed from either stainless steel or cast iron, the Heavy-Duty PAV Series allows up to +/- 15 PSI pressure differential and 500°F with standard components. We also offer kits for extremely high-temperature rotary airlock applications up to 1,000°F. The PAV Rotary Airlock Valves are available in nine convenient sizes with optional coatings or construction materials available for handling abrasive or corrosive materials and equipped with chain drive gear-motors and your choice of speed. Inlets and outlets are available in many common sizes and we also offer designs built to your unique application.
Prater - Model Quick Take QTA Series - Rotary Airlock Valve
Whether you are interested in our QTA Series or another one of our popular rotary airlocks, Prater has the solutions that you need for the smooth processing operation that you want.
