Precision AirConvey`s industry-leading trim removal systems and innovative Granulate Feed Systems (GFS) work together to make your film, sheet and non-woven trim go further, helping you save on virgin resin — all without repellitizing. The GFS closed-loop recycling system keeps up with demand by feeding both fluff (which is also called granulate) and virgin resins into the extruder. The system avoids common consistency problems traditionally associated with fluff recycling by keeping the fluff and virgin resins in two separate hopper chambers. The resin is pushed down by gravity while the fluff is conveyed by a variable speed auger. The auger automatically speed ups or slow downs according the to the extruder demands. Agitator arms prevent loss of feed and bridging.

When chopped or granulated materials are drawn or blown through ductwork at high speeds, a static charge can be generated. Some materials are more prone to static build up than others. Once the material is charged, the bits of trim or granulate have a tendency to cling or clump within the air separator. Clinging and clumping can lead to a bridging of the separator discharge chute and/or inconsistent trim material output surges. Clumps of material build up and break away instead of traveling at a consistent rate.

Venturis offer paper, film, foil, plastic, label matrix and other continuous-trim waste removal with a compact footprint and low up-front costs. Precision AirConvey`s durable venturi-based systems apply PAC`s proprietary engineering advances to the venturi’s classic design. PAC`s venturi systems excel in label, converting and other applications in which the waste remains in a continuous, ribbon-like form. The material is whisked pneumatically from a slitter, press or die cutter to a collector bin, container or baler set next to the machinery or up to 100 feet away. This helps companies eliminate line stoppages, reduce maintenance needs, boost production and segregate waste streams.

The TrimPAC is a versatile, pre-engineered trim handling system that comes with everything you need for reliable, clog-free, high-speed conveying and removal. It can cut and convey edge trim and matrix into a waste bin or baler at a 20% higher rate than venturi systems, while densifying the waste at rates up to 20:1. The TrimPAC is offered in two styles. The TrimPAC for trim removal includes an in-line cutter, a material handling fan, piping, an air separator and two inlet pickups. The TrimPAC for matrix waste removal includes an in-line cutter, a material handling fan, piping, an air separator, a single matrix-style pickup and an innovative oil mist system that keeps sticky PSA trim from adhering to the components.
