Presto Geosystems news
With the commercialization of geocell soil confinement technology in the early 1980s, Presto Geosystems made history as one of the early pioneers in the world of geosynthetics. Over four decades later, that innovative spirit is as alive today as it was at the beginning of our journey. Presto Geosystems, the leader in geocell technology, announces the publication of the industry´s first Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for geocells. This milestone reinforces
The inaugural Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) grant program was designed to eliminate or improve roadway and railroad at-grade crossings, with the goal of making roads/rails safer while improving commute times for citizens.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation website, “this program provides funding for highway-rail or pathway-rail grade crossing improveme
From February 18 to 24, 2024, the engineering community will come together to celebrate Engineers Week. This year’s theme, “Welcome to the Future!”, is a nod to the incredible advancements that have been made and a look forward to the innovations yet to come. It’s a week to celebrate, reflect, and inspire the next generation of engineers.
The grades are in, and they’re not great. On Wednesday, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) released their quadrennial Infrastructure Report Card. America’s infrastructure earned an overall grade of C-minus. While this is a minor improvement over 2017’s Infrastructure Report card, which revealed a dismal grade of D-plus, there’s still a lot of work to be done.
We are pleased to announce that Presto Geosystems will continue to offer regular online learning opportunities throughout 2021. Our webinars will explore soil stabilization and stormwater solutions for the civil, industrial, stormwater, and construction industries. The series will also include webinars that address improving resilience in industries including landfills, rail, mining, and ports. PDH credit is available for Presto Geosystems webinars.
We will kick off our new series,
Solve Challenging Slope-Surface Stability Problems
Stabilize cut slopes from mining operations and roadway embankments using the long-lasting GEOWEB geocell solution. The GEOWEB 3D structure allows slopes to be constructed at steeper angles (>45º) while solving soil erosion and slope-surface stability problems, potentially with waste rock infill.
Presto Geosystems’ GEOPAVE® porous pavements were utilized along with other environmental and sustainable products in a popular Wisconsin nature preserve, The Ridges Sanctuary, in their pursuit for a LEED® Platinum rating. With certification expected by year-end, this facility will be the first LEED® certified commercial building in Wisconsin’s Door County. In addition to the GEOPAVE aggregate system delivering highly porous parking and walkways around the facility, ot
