The only laser scanner developed specifically for molten metal applications. The highly reliable ANTERIS 300 scanner provides lining thickness information that defines the refractory condition of ladles, converters, AOD’s, EAF’s and Q-BOP’s. ANTERIS 300 series (300s, 300r, 300c, 300dm, 300g) covers a wide range of possible applications defined by the existing layout. All steel plants are different: no single solution can cover all cases. Strengthened by the knowledge acquired through decades of experience retrofitting existing facilities, Vesuvius has developed a wide range of solutions for all vessels to lower integration costs and maximize thickness measurement performance.

A cut in the floor… For most refractory thickness measurement in ladles, a simple layout can be found which does not require much civil works. For example, an installation on the furnace floor above the ladle transfer car is often available. Such cases will be the best value as there is no need for extra hardware and the installation is typically light.

Robotic arm. In many EAF cases, the laser must be brought over the furnace when the furnace roof is removed. A robotic arm may be needed in some ladle applications as well. In almost all cases Process Metrix and Vesuvius can offer a custom-made and flexible solution with a robotic arm design and turn-key project.

Whichever location is right for a fixed laser ladle project, if it does not require an arm and time is tight, then the ANTERIS 300c is an easy and clean way to speed-up installation in this self-contained solution. The shipping container is used as the enclosure for the laser unit. All components are pre-tested at the factory and the few connections to the plant (all fluids and signal) can be made quickly as soon as the container is bolted in its final position. The best solution for projects with tight deadlines or short shut-downs!

One Movement, One Scan, 360 Degrees Coverage. ANTERIS 360 laser contouring system combines high-speed laser scanning technology with a robust mechanical platform and easy-to-use HYPERION 3D output software. It is designed to be inserted in the vessel and perform a single, 360 degrees scan, which will capture the full vessel. It can be used in ladle applications to “see” past the skull aggregate which can, in some circumstances, obstruct the view of the slag line as seen by other traditional scanners. Integration usually requires a simple single axis manipulator, which lowers both long and short terms costs. The results are superior scanning operations performance (accuracy, insert-ability and cycle time) for all vessel types. ANTERIS 360 is the most advanced laser contouring system on the market for metallurgical applications.

ANTERIS Mobile is Process Metrix’s first product line. The unit can be used to measure fixed vessels’ (B0F, A0Ds) remaining refractory thickness, and can be multiplexed on different furnaces within the same mill.
