PULSCO’s Hydropneumatic Surge Control Systems, commonly known as surge arrestors or shock traps, are designed to eliminate damaging shock waves and pressure transients in fluid transporting systems. These pressure transients often are called water hammer, surge or shock.

PULSCO - Model BVS-910 - Vent Silencer

PULSCO Vent Silencers reduce the noise generated by the expansion of gas or steam from elevated pressures to atmospheric pressure. These absorptive silencers are used to suppress noise generated by high velocity gas streams such as steam vents, safety relief valve outlets, system blow down and purge outlets.

PULSCO - Model ILS-920 - Line Silencer

Our Line Silencers are used to control noise produced by valves in piping systems. The line silencer is close-coupled with the control or pressure reducing valve and reduces the aerodynamic noise resulting from gas or vapor turbulence. In addition to providing the required back pressure on the valve, each line silencer is designed to attenuate the noise level by 25 dBA.

PULSCO - Gas Pulsation Dampeners

PULSCO’s Gas Pulsation Dampeners are designed to attenuate the pressure pulsations generated by gas pumping compressor systems. These pulsation dampeners can handle any gas at any operating pressure. Each pulsation dampener is specifically designed to match system requirements and to decrease pulsations that vibrate and destroy piping. All types of gas compressor systems can benefit from pulsation control, but it is extremely critical in a reciprocating compressor installation.

PULSCO - Liquid Pulsation Dampeners (Acoustic Filters)

PULSCO’s Liquid Pulsation Dampeners (Acoustic Filters) are the effective solution to pulsation, vibration and noise in fluid (hydraulic) piping systems. Whenever fluids are being pumped under high pressure, vibration will occur. High intensity noise may also occur in systems that produce high frequency pulsations. As significant as the noise irritation is the possibility that the vibration will damage system piping and components. The associated maintenance and equipment replacement costs are substantial and in an aircraft system, the results of hydraulic system failure can be catastrophic. PULSCO’s Dampeners reduce piping and component deterioration and provide a quieter environment.
