Specialized Products

QT Environmental - RDSS (Rapid Deployment Skimming System)

The R.D.S.S. packages are designed to be easily transported by land, air or sea. The R.D.S.S. is ideal for standby, refineries, offshore drilling projects, and emergency response crew. The R.D.S.S. packages have proven to be the most complete, competent, unique and versatile oil spill response system available. The R.D.S.S. is founded on two metal pallets that contain fine oil spill response equipment. One great benefit of the system is that everything works together. Each piece of equipment can be unbolted for easy repairs or can be used individually.

QT Environmental - Model BoomVane - Two-Vessel U- and J Sweep Towing Configuration

In coastal and offshore sweep operations, the BoomVane offers important advantages compared to both a two-vessel U- and J sweep towing configuration. The BoomVane’s high-speed and wave-action stability, coupled with elasticity inherent in the system, allows for unparalleled sweep width and equipment durability in different vessel sweep modes. The BoomVane system manufactured by ORC AB has proven to be a unique system when used together with any of the existing Buster products. It is easy and cost efficient while significantly reducing the operator’s response time. Safety is also an important factor since there is only one vessel involved, which eliminates any communication necessary during towing and the risk of damaging the equipment.

Containment Systems

QT Environmental - Model NOFI - Spill Raider Boom - Offshore Oil Containment System

The NOFI Spill Raider Boom is an automatic inflatable oil containment system engineered for quick deployment and easy handling, targeting offshore spill management applications. It leverages design elements from the NOFI 1000 series, offering enhanced flexibility and efficient wave tracking. This boom is designed specifically for open-ocean conditions, capable of being deployed and retrieved by a single operator within a 15-minute timeframe. With 300 meters in length and featuring an 800 mm freeboard, the system achieves proficient performance at towing or water current speeds reaching up to 1.2 knots—an efficiency corroborated by testing at the Ohmsett test facility. Its construction uses heavy-duty PU/PVC fabric with high abrasion resistance and ease of cleaning, incorporating safety features and system redundancy for reliable operation even when individual components fail.

QT Environmental - Model NOFI 1000 Series - Reliable Manual Inflatable Oil Containment Booms

The NOFI 1000 series consist of reliable manual inflatable oil containment booms specially designed for optimal performance under demanding coastal conditions. Due to its perfect design and superb wave-follower characteristics, the Ohmsett test has reported clearly established increased flexibility regarding towing speed and maneuverability. The NOFI 1000 series are available in 300, 450, and 600 mm freeboard for operation near coastal zones. While the 800 mm and 1000 mm freeboard is used for offshore operations.
