Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a systematic process to identify, predict and evaluate the environmental effects of proposed actions in order to aid decision making regarding the significant environmental consequences of projects, developments and programmes.This study is to identify environmental and economic impacts of a proposed development. It is carried out to have a bearing on the decision-making for the project on whether or not to proceed.EIA provides information for decision-making on the environmental consequences of proposed actions; and promotes environmentally sound and sustainable development through the identification of appropriate enhancement and mitigation measures.
Post Impact Assessment (PIA)
This study is carried out after the commissioning of the project. It is carried out vis-à-vis recommendations of an EIA study to determine environmental conditions following an impact on the environment. The study will provide the extent of degradation and will provide tools for decision-making with regards to remediation.
Environmental Audit/Environmental Evaluation Studies (EES)
This is a systematic, documented verification process for objectively obtaining and evaluating evidence to determine whether specified environmental activities, events, conditions, management systems conforms with audit criteria, and communicating the results of this process to the client. It is an investigative process to determine if an existing facility is in compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.This service is essential to the environmental management process, as it complements associated field services aimed at analyzing environmental parameters. An environmental audit/evaluation report ideally contains a statement of environmental performance and environmental position, and may also aim to define what needs to be done to sustain or improve on indicators of such performance and position.
Field/Laboratory Services
Rain Forest Limited has standard in-situ meters for field work and is also in the process of setting up a standard laboratory. Below are some of the equipment and meters already acquired.
Field Logistics Support Services
This service includes land, water and air transportation of field personnel, lease of communication and specialized equipment for field operations, liaison with local communities and public enlightenment (plus production of video clips where required), and arrangement of accommodation for field personnel.
