Metal processing
The roots of Recycling Lives began in the scrap metal business, and this is a process we continue to undertake to the highest levels to this day. With more than 40 years experience, we now stand as an industry leader, and provide an unrivalled service across the country.
We pay a competitive price for valuable waste metal such as:
•Ferrous metals (magnetic) including light iron; heavy steel; and cast iron
•Non-ferrous metals including copper; brass; lead; stainless steel; aluminium; bronze; car batteries; alloy wheels; and zinc
•Scrap cars; vans and other motor vehicles; both end of life and abandoned
•Scrap machinery and plant
We are able to pay such competitive scrap prices because of our efficiency, experience and capability with scrap metal recycling.
Recycling CRT
Recycling Lives have developed a unique Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) processing system. Old televisions and computer monitors, which contain CRT’s, can be accepted at any of our sites to be passed on to our specialist CRT department for processing, thus reducing waste from CRT’s going to landfill. Our specially designed vehicles can also collect items throughout the UK.
Scrap Cars
Recycling Lives are one of the largest End of Life Vehicle (ELV) processors in the North West, with five sites capable of accepting vehicles for processing. Vehicles can be accepted from both members of the public and commercial enterprises. We are also able to arrange an ELV collection service either for single or for multiple vehicles, and will offer an instant payout for vehicles collected. Our rates are some of the most competitive around.
Recycling WEEE
All Recycling Lives facilities have the capacity to accept Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) from both the general public and commercial businesses, to be passed on to our specialist WEEE division for processing. We have the ability to handle high-capacity WEEE contracts.
Waste Management

To make this task as effortless as possible, Recycling Lives has set up a specialist Carbon Reduction Department that provides a complete carbon reduction solution that will not only save your business money but also increase your buildings efficiency.
The Recycling Lives team is Stroma accredited and is registered on the government’s official Landmark database of accredited Domestic Energy Assessors. Recycling Lives’ direct relationship with global manufacturers makes all prices very competitive.

Tyre Bay
The Recycling Lives Tyre Bay provides quality new and part worn tyres from our Preston tyre centre. Our second hand tyres are all fully tested and stamped to ensure that your vehicle is completely safe and legal. Most people think that, when they want to replace their tyres, they are stuck with a choice between expensive, brand new tyres and poor quality, cheap second hand tyres. Not at the Recycling Lives Tyre Bay – we sell quality part worn tyres that are safe, legal and affordable.
