Our Phyco-Bubble columns bring a fully controllable laboratory scale reactor system to the marketplace. The columns are available in a range of incremental sizes from 3 – 25 L, and can be illuminated with LED or Gro-Lux back lighting that can be tailored to specific photosynthetic requirements. The systems are mixed by aeration which significantly reduces mechanical shear, and display excellent levels of turbulence and mass transfer. Standard fabrication is in Schott borosilicate glass, with manifolds and connectors made from PVC or aluminium. A variety of ports for inlet/outlet and sensor functions can be added dependent on requirements.

The BioFence is a highly efficient and reliable method for producing high density monocultures of marine and freshwater algae. It typically operates at twicethe density of conventional cultures and is highly productive relative to conventional methods. The innovative manifold design dramatically reduces labour requirements and eliminates handling problems. The system can be operated for prolonged periods without culture crashing, which is facilitated by a patented tube self-cleaning mechanism. It is a closed, controlled system, where environmental parameters are automatically controlled. Importantly, the system is easily expanded to meet increased production requirements.

The Varicon Aqua CTC’s are a range of high efficiency Incubators designed to meet the specific requirements of scientist and production specialist working in the field of photo-synthetic organisms. The CTC is a temperature controlled incubator which can be manufactured to meet the specific light requirements of a range of photosynthetic organisms with regards to light intensity and wavelengths.
