RK BioElements Light have a density of 0.93 g/cm3 and are used in `up-flow` and `moving bed` filters.

SADDLE CHIPS is designed as an open element for easy cleaning and maintenance. In addition, the saddle shape of the element contributes to good hydraulic properties that among other things include good distribution of the water and low pressure drop in fixed bed filters. Furthermore, the SADDLE CHIPS has a unique design that provides good hydraulics around the elements so that the entire surface gets fresh water, resulting in high performance of the filter.

RK BioElements Medium have a density of 1.00 g/cm3 and are used primarily in `moving bed` filters, where this density results in considerable energy savings.

RK BioElements Heavy have a density of 1.20 g/cm3 and are used primarily in `down-flow fixed-bed` filters.
