The RoadWatch sensor measures both air and road surface temperatures (in Fahrenheit) and sends to winter road maintenance equipment as commonly used on salt trucks and gritters. This kit includes sensor Fasteners, Connectors used by many popular spreaders controllers and Automatic Vehicle Locators (AVL) and Global Positioning System (GPS) devices. Depending on the manufacturers spread controller a RoadWatch RS232 adaptor and M8 extension cable (434-0100-000, 434-0100-001, 434-0100-002) may also be required depending on the length needed.

This new vehicle tracking system is a unique low cost Smart Device solution for vehicle tracking. It records location, vehicle and road condition metrics and transmits via Bluetooth connect for easy installation and portable use. All of these features are shown in an easy to read data presentation that is compatible with free viewing tools such as ArcGIS® and Google Earth®. Included in this package is an RS-232 data port. This allows complete backwards compatibility with part number 849-0099-000 for seamless connection to legacy devices. Note: The Tracker RS-232 part number 849-1099-010 is the replacement for 849-0099-000 which is has been obsoleted.

Flat sensor backing for easy mount to flat surfaces. The Flat Back Clamp slides onto the existing RoadWatch sensor housing to enable the sensor to mount to any flat surface.

The RoadWatch M8 Y-splitter allows one sensor signal to be sent to two different devices. This 1-female to 2-male connector is commonly used when combining multiple devices such as a local display, GPS or spreader.

This 12` (3.7 m) extension cable connects the RoadWatch sensor and display unit and is suitable for use in harsh winter environments. Features industry standard M8 connection style.

Ensure that your RoadWatch sensor is communicating accurate data with the new RoadWatch Field Calibration System (FCS). The FCS allows you to improve the quality control process of your winter road maintenance program and includes all necessary hardware for repeatable and accurate validation of your temperature sensor. Simply store the Road Target Object in a frozen environment (freezer) for 30 minutes and insert into the FCS along with your sensor for easy temperature validation. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable certificate ensures that your readings are accurate and helps determine the optimal amount of treatment material needed for efficient winter road maintenance.
