Roscoe - Water Well Casing
Roscoe Moss Company is the only company in the world that produces casing designed specifically for water wells. Our casings are fabricated in sizes to most efficiently accommodate pump assemblies and is manufactured from steel alloys proved best suited for ground water development. All Roscoe Moss Company casing is fabricated by the spiral process utilizing double, submerged-arc welding. This method offers special advantages including:
Roscoe - Water Well Shutter Screen
Shutter screen, also known as louver screen, is manufactured by forming downward facing louver shaped openings into pipe up to 40 feet long. The process incorporates use of an internal mandrel which perforates the shutter against external blocks. Shutter screen is commonly produced from a variety of steel types including carbon, copper-bearing, high-strength low-alloy, and stainless. This type of screen is particularly suited for use in large diameter, deep, gravel envelope wells. In many parts of the world, wells of this type pump ground water from thick formations consisting of sands and gravels. Shutter screen is the product of choice for these wells because it is hydraulically efficient, strong and durable. The smooth, unobstructed interior of shutter screen allows the efficient use of highly effective development techniques such as swabbing and also facilitates employment of efficient maintenance and repair methods.
Roscoe - Continuous Wire Wrap Water Well Screen
Commonly referred to as continuous slot or wire wrap screen, this product was originally developed to overcome problems associated with cable tool wells drilled in fine grained, uniform sands in the North Central United States. These wells were typically completed in relatively shallow, thin aquifers that were very prolific in terms of water production. Continuous wire wrap screen are very effective in wells of this type since they can be manufactured with very small slot size and yet still maintain the necessary open area to minimize frictional head loss.
Roscoe - Model 2101, 2205, 2507 - Duplex Stainless Water Well Casing and Screen
Duplex stainless steel is the appropriate material for specific environments where corrosion is extreme. Typical applications include brackish water, desalination, and brine injection. Duplex stainless steel offers superior corrosion resistance combined with high strength.
Roscoe - Model AWWA C-200 - Steel Water Pipe Meeting System
Roscoe Moss Company manufactures steel water pipe meeting the requirements of AWWA C-200 for use in supply lines and transmission mains. We provide pipe ranging in diameters from 6 5/8” OD to 60” OD, in wall thicknesses from 10 gauge to ½” and in lengths of 20 feet to 60 feet. For field assembly, we can manufacture single butt weld joints, lap/bell welded slip joints, butt strap joints, and rolled-groove rubber gasket bell joint.
Roscoe - Stormwater Gross Solids Removal Device
Roscoe Moss Company’s Storm Flo Screen is a proven technology for removing solids from stormwater and is manufactured in diameters and lengths to treat a wide range of hydraulic conditions and debris loads. Storm Flo Screen’s linear radial design is certified as a Full Capture System for compliance with State of California’s discharge and trash capture regulations.
Centralizers
Centralizers are used to center the screen within the borehole. They are typically manufactured from 5/16 x 2 inch steel, 30 inches long, bent to provide the proper centering distance. This distance or bend is usually the theoretical borehole radius minus one inch. The guides are attached to the screen by welding. Three or four guides are placed equidistantly around the screen at specified intervals.
Rossum Sand Tester
The Rossum Sand Tester is used to measure sand content of pumped water. This device is reliable, easy to use and relatively inexpensive. American Water Works Association Standard for Water Wells (AWWA A 100) Appendix E, Section E.4.6 `Measurement of Sand Content` states `Measurement of sand content may be accomplished by the installation of the Rossum centrifugal sand sampler...` This device has been manufactured by Roscoe Moss Company for over 40 years.
