This unit is mounted on a D5B Caterpillar Crawler Tractor and is specifically designed for drilling of horizontal to plus-or-minus 22° angle holes. Drilling types consist of: fluid or air circulation, tricone or downhole hammer, or ODEX. This units primary use is for installing drain holes in embankments with water source stability problems, as well as a variety of other construction techniques such as soil nails and/or tie backs.

This unit is capable of geotechnical augering and coring. It is complete with auto hammer, three winches, hydraulic powered Bean 35 water pump, and Moyno mud pump. This machine has 6600-ft. lbs. of torque.
