If you’re like most of us, you have concerns about the quality of the indoor air you’re breathing in every day. Other sources of contaminants may include smoke, dust, poor maintenance of HVAC systems, cleaning supplies, pesticides and building materials and furnishings. While any of these may be present in every building, problems may arise when the numbers become excessive.

When the yellow tape comes out and hard hats come on, our Safex representatives begin working side-by-side with contractors and subcontractors. We help them fulfill their responsibility to provide a safe environment for everyone living and working within the area. Contractor oversight and site inspections are a Safex specialty. We ensure safety at your construction site by: Providing site safety support. Conducting a job hazard analysis (JHA). Assessing OSHA compliance. Monitoring individuals’ exposure to harmful contaminants. Conducting respirator fit testing.

Wondering if your safety performance could be improved? Safex will conduct a Gap Assessment to compare your actual safety performance with potential or desired performance. This service includes an 8-hour gap assessment and 4 hours of program review. Then, Safex will develop a written report outlining opportunities and priorities based on the following observations: A review of the company activities to identify applicable sections of 29 CFR 1926 and/or 1910. A review of existing written programs for compliance with the applicable OSHA standards. A facility walk-through and observation of work practices. A review of select training and inspection records.

Is your company`s safety culture strong? An effective safety culture can result in a positive attitude toward safety and a reduction in accidents and incidents. In a strong safety culture, everyone feels responsible for safety and pursues it on a daily basis. Safex will administer a survey to gather information from every level of the organization and can provide leading indicators of safety program quality and effectiveness. We`ll conduct interviews with select management and employee representatives to gain an understanding of their knowledge of the safety program and how the program is being implemented.
