Afterward, the formed mixture of ash and balls is separated in a drum sieve, and the balls are recycled into the cleaning cycle. The spherical rain system is well-suited for vertical gas paths with horizontally oriented superheater or economizer bundles, even in non-aligned tube setups or larger bundle heights where other systems fail. It requires no additional media like steam or compressed air, making it ideal for smaller plants or those with limited steam availability. Advantages include: intensive cleaning of superheater heating surfaces, minimal space requirements compared to sootblowers, no need for additional process steam or compressed air, and reduced piping and cabling efforts compared to other cleaning systems.
