Development Services
Geotechnical Engineering Services
Sanborn Head believes a solid foundation is essential for a successful site development. It is our experience that the subsurface conditions will most often dictate the project schedule, premium costs for site development, and ultimately the overall project success. Prior to starting our geotechnical investigation, we gather a full understanding of our client’s expectations and the project’s needs to develop a strategy that is appropriate for the complexity of the project. By being diligent, responsive and undertanding of our client’s tolerances for risk, we help to achieve succesful outcomes for our clients, the community, and the environment.
Environmental Assessment & Remediation Services
We believe a successful development project requires an understanding of environmental risk. Environmental conditions can add to project costs and schedule, dramatically affecting the ultimate success of a project. We work with our clients to understand their tolerance for environmental risk and their objectives for the project. We then use our strong working knowledge of the applicable regulatory context to develop strategies for assessment and, if necessary, remediation of contamination. At Sanborn Head, we develop individual strategies for our clients, weaving remediation endpoints with the development plan. Successful outcomes include an understanding of environmental risk, developing regulatory strategies that work for the client, and winning development projects.
Due Diligence & Conceptual Site Design Services
Often the greatest risks that need to be identified, understood, and overcome at any development or redevelopment site are located beneath the ground surface.
Water Resources Services
Sanborn Head believes that water is the critical resource linking together all human activities, and the safe and appropriate management of this resource is the key to our shared future. Understanding the factors that control the movement of water in the subsurface as well as evolving regulations and policy are critical for the development of a new source of water, the infiltration of water in the subsurface, or the structural safety of an earthen dam. Sanborn Head has the staff to lead our clients, ranging directly from site owners to site civil designers, from the conceptual state through to the system design. Our staff routinely develops creative solutions to address competing water resource demands, helping our clients to permit and construct vibrant, forward thinking projects.
Energy
Landfill Gas‐to‐Energy Design and Support Services
Concerns over the effects of climate change have spurred actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The most common GHG is carbon dioxide (C02), which is a by-product of fuel combustion; however, another prominent GHG is methane, which comes from the decay of material, for example, waste within a landfill. Methane is particularly significant because it is 21 times more potent at trapping heat than carbon dioxide.
Air Services
Sanborn Head provides a complete array of air services to support our clients with federal and state-specific regulatory assessments, permitting, and reporting requirements. Our services broadly range from initial air emissions assessments and routine air emissions compliance reporting to comprehensive air dispersion models and Title V Operating Permit applications.
Solid Waste Services
Construction Services
At Sanborn Head, we recognize that we have an opportunity during project construction to provide significant value as trusted partners to our client. Construction costs are typically a major component of overall development project costs. By working closely with our client, the contractor, and regulators during the construction phase of a project, we limit the potential for otherwise costly delays.
Design Services
At Sanborn Head, we pride ourselves on working closely with our clients through all phases of a project. The project design phase provides a unique opportunity for us to create a template for our client’s vision. Some of the most important decisions that impact the success of a project occur during initial design discussions that we have with our clients. We seek consensus with our clients on design functions to collaboratively develop successful projects.
