Industry-leading, positively-controlled decanter utilizes an electromechanical actuator and variable frequency drive (VFD) to enable multiple control strategies and precise effluent control flexibility. Floating decanters do not offer this capability. Rugged, corrosion resistant stainless steel design for long life with minimal maintenance. Decants from the top down, with visible effluent quality observation, via gravity operation. Effluent weir is removed from the water surface during aeration, but below top of basin wall for emergency overflow capability. All decanter components requiring routine maintenance are readily serviceable from tank edge eliminating need for removal of decanter from basin or the need to enter the basin.

The blower system is designed for air delivery to the aeration system.For operational simplicity, positive displacement blowers delivering constant airflow at variable water depths are typically used.When supplied with VFDs and DO control system, optimal energy efficiency is realized.
Centrifugal blowers employed on larger systems can also be integrated with DO control system and modulating inlet valve or VFDs for energy savings. A variety of duty-standby configurations are available to match a wide range of operating conditions, ranging from low-load startup configuration to full build-out capacity.

The Sanitaire Silver Series II LP is a 9-inch low-pressure version of the Silver Series II membrane, and features a modified slit pattern to handle airflow up to 17 Nm(3)/h (10 scfm), equal to 11 standard cubic feet per minute, with minimal pressure loss. Lower energy consumption and raised operating efficiencies are made possible by the unique membrane shape, integrated O-ring and top-sealing threaded retainer ring which eliminates leakage. A highly effective, integrated check valve enables the aeration zones to be easily shut down for air-on/air-off applications. Sanitaire patented pipe joints are designed to withstand thermal expansion and contraction, water hammer and other dynamic stresses, while pipe supports allow infinite height adjustment for accurate grid leveling.

Combining Sanitaire diffused aeration, Flygt submersible mixing and overall process application, as well as instrumentation and process control from Sanitaire and YSI in both new and retrofit applications, Xylem’s Sanitaire Bioloop oxidation ditch delivers up to 50% better energy efficiency, while remaining adaptable to a wide range of flow and loading conditions. The process can also be designed to remove total nitrogen and total phosphorus.

Sanitaire pioneered the concept of wide band aeration with the introduction of the SANITAIRE stainless steel non-clog D-24 diffuser in 1967, which has since become the standard of the industry.

Trouble-free maintenance makes the Sanitaire single drop diffuser perfectly suited for applications where dewatering isn’t possible, such as aerated channels or digesters. Its innovative dual shear plate design and multiple air release slots assure optimized efficiency of oxygen transfer, and an optional clean-out port allows for manual cleaning without draining basins or channels. The injection-molded plastic diffuser body is available in 1-inch (2.5 cm) or 2-inch (5 cm) sizes.
