A 4-column press (commonly known as a 4-post hydraulic press) is a vertical hydraulic press (up-acting or down-acting) with a guided platen, powered by a hydraulic cylinder(s). The platen is fitted with bronze bushings that ride on four (4) columns of hard chrome-plated alloy steel. Savage is a custom four column press manufacturer that employs an eight-bushing design, with each bushing pair separated in extra-long housings. This bushing separation provides a generous bearing ratio, improves platen parallelism, and creates a large lubrication storage area between the bushings. The integration of separated bushings into this design delivers superior guidance in comparison to the competition’s single bushing designs.

The Gap Frame Press, also known as a C-Frame hydraulic press, is easily distinguished by its unique frame design that creates a “C” around the bed bolster. Custom gap frame presses can be preferred for their wide-open, three-sided accessibility as well as portability. They are perfect for tighter workspaces as they are self-contained, creating only a small footprint. For applications under 100 tons, the C-Frame hydraulic press is the most economically-priced small bed hydraulic press.

Savage’s narrow bed TFS Straightening Press is the perfect solution for straightening heavy shafts, tubes, and bars. The tube straightening press is loaded onto pressing anvils. The gantry is then traversed over the shaft. Straightening accessories include: Power workpiece rotation, power lift, power anvil positioning, and power rotation stand positioning along the bed.

These cold header die repair presses are used in the bolt-making industry to press carbide inserts into and out of cold header dies.
