SCAT (Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique) is a systematic approach that uses standard terminology to collect data on shoreline oiling conditions and supports decision-making for shoreline cleanup. The SCAT survey data is collected by trained SCAT teams usually by using waterproof writing paper and pencils.
