The UTSD is suitable for use in a large single-family house or a block of flats as well as for a community heating system.

The Schmid Pelletronic UTSP pellet boiler works on the same principle as the underfeed stoker furnace. The pellets are feeded from below into a combustion retort made of high-alloy casting. The complete combustion chamber is lined with fireproof material, which leads to a high furnace temperature.
