Rex is a multi-frequency locator with a price tag comparable to single-frequency locators. The sleek design of the transmitter is less than 2” thick and weighs less than 4 lbs. The Schonstedt GA-52Cx Locator detects deviation created  the magnetic field of the earth around  iron/ steel objects and energized power lines. The strength of the deviation identifies the location of those objects. An  audible noise that peaks in frequency when the locator`s tip is held directly over the target locates the target. The locator is not capable of finding copper, aluminum, gold, etc. Small iron objects can be located in shallow depths, larger iron/steel objects can be located at deeper depths.The larger the mass of the iron/steel, the deeper it can be detcted.

Schonstedt GA52 Fluxgate Magnetometer. 45 X 6 X 4 inches. 7 lbs. $10.00 each, $55.00 Prep. The GA-52Cx Magnetic Locator detects the magnetic field of a ferromagnetic object. It responds to the difference in the magnetic field between two sensors spaced about 20 inches apart. The response is a change in the frequency of the signal emitted by the piezoelectric speaker. Figure 1 illustrates an application of the locator in which it is used to detect an iron marker of the type used for property line identification. As shown, the magnetic field of the iron marker is stronger at sensor A than it is at sensor B. As a result, the frequency from the piezo electric speaker is higher than the idling frequency, 40 Hz, which exists when the field strength is the same at both sensors.

The Model GA-72Cd Magnetic Locator detects the magnetic field of ferromagnetic objects. It responds to the difference in the magnetic field between two sensors winch are spaced about 14 inches apart. The GA-72Cd is unique because it provides an audio signal, and visual indications of both signal strength and polarity. Although most objects can be located using either of the indications, simultaneous use of both types will help you pinpoint a target and determine its orientation and identify magnetically detectable nonmetallic duct and cable.

This locator detects the magnetic field of any ferrous object covered by ground, pavement, water or snow. Designed for one-hand operation, simply point the locator toward the ground and move it from side-to-side in a sweeping motion. When the locator comes within range of an iron object, an audio signal is given. By simple analysis, the signal peaks will help you determine if objects are upright or on their side. Tone frequency increases or decreases with gradient-field intensity. The unit can locate well casings up to 15 feet deep, 55-gallon drums and cast-iron pipes up to 8 feet deep and much more. Does not respond to aluminum, brass, copper, etc.
