In the 1970’s our co-founder, Jack Hoey, negotiated a partnership with Eastern Airlines. Through this Scientific Instruments began manufacturing FAA regulated PMA partner for commercial  aircraft. Revolving primarily around temperature measurement, these probes were based off identicality of OEM parts.

The SCM10, single channel temperature monitor, is a compact, reliable instrument capable of providing extremely accurate measurements for a variety of applications. The unit supports diode and RTD sensors and it can be configured for the appropriate sensor type using the front panel or the utility software. Two convenient sensor excitation currents are provided to choose from. The SCM10 provides a 4 –leaded differential measurement for accurate temperature measurements. Measurements are available in temperature units K, °C or °F , or sensor units V or Ω.

Platinum resistance thermometers (PRT) are capable of high temperature and cryogenic temperature measurements making these the perfect choice for environments with a vast temperature range. (77.15K to 473.15K)

The SI-7000 LTD is the most dependable solution for level, temperature, and density profiling in LNG & LPG Storage Tanks. The SI-7000, a third generation LTD from Scientific Instruments was designed to meet today’s demanding safety regulations. Now on smaller footprint, built-in intuitive keypad display, optimized performance, reliability and accuracy. The SI-7000 Probe has dedicated sensors for level, temperature and lng density measurements, all embedded into a robust stainless steel housing. All components exposed to Zone 0 & 1 are constructed of stainless steel, offering superior corrosion resistance. The SI-7000 now features an entirely re-designed jam-proof vertical-gear-drive mechanism (VGD), combined with a robust stainless steel chain resulting in trouble-free most reliable profiling performance in LNG & LPG storage tanks.
