EA-GEAR Model 9000 Plankton Nets are designed for the safe and secure capture of marine biological specimens. Each net is carefully manufactured using only the finest and strongest synthetic materials available. Precision woven Nylon or Polyester filtering cloth is used for straining.

SEA-GEAR Model 9000-BB Belly Band is a high performance fabric band with equally spaced nylon purse rings sewn around the perimeter of the net a distance away from the collar. When tripped by a net release, the bridle disengages and drops below the level of the Belly Band. Simultaneously, the Belly Band tightens, choking off all entry to the net.

The Neuston net design features a large, rectangular net frame (need picture of frames and description) and a relatively long net for sampling substantial water volumes. The net mouthy shape is useful for surface sampling of tar balls and other near surface to larval fish or delicate organisms. Our standard nets are offered in lengths of 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 meters (mouth-to-cod end) to provide the large mesh cloth area required. These nets are available in the usual wide range of mesh openings; including 1/8”, 3/16” and ¼” knotless knit mesh. Length and mesh opening should be specified with order.

The exclusive, SEA-GEAR Paired Neuston Net design enables two unlike mesh square nets for to be towed at the same time for substantial comparative sampling. These nets are custom manufactured and designed for the Paired Frame.

SEA-GEAR Spreader Bars/Towing bridle Assembly is available for any width Neuston Frame and guarantees the elimination of front-end avoidance.

The SEA-GEAR Kick Net is designed to meet the requirements of groups performing USEPA Rapid Bioassessment Protocols for benthic invertebrates. It is approximately 1meter square and 500 micron mesh. SEA-GEAR Model 9100 Student Plankton Net is available in 13, 20 and 25cm (5, 8 and 10”) diameters with a standard length of 3:1, in a select range of mesh openings. Student Nets have a Stainless Steel net ring sewn into a nylon mouth collar and feature a 250 lb. test three point bridle with swivel or tow ring. The cod end diameter is 5cm. Light duty construction is a good choice for classroom studies. Each net is equipped with an internally threaded jar holder, hose clamp and two collection jars.

SEA-GEAR Model 9700 Bongo (MARMAP) Samplers Designed for use in quantitative zooplankton sampling. They offer superior design and collect more plankton per unit volume than either the traditional ring net or modern high speed encased plankton sampler. The Bongo Frame was designed by the National Marine Fisheries Service for use in the MARMAP program and is currently in use at various institutions and in environmental concerns throughout the world.

SEA-GEARc Model 9765 Large Bongo Frame consists of two 61cm (24”) I.D. hand-wrapped fiberglass reinforced polyester resin (FPR) bodies. The two bodies are joined by a bronze and stainless steel yoke/axle assembly which features a self-contained towing eye.
