Model Pulsar - Shallow Drafted Cheetah Marine Catamaran

Pulsar is a shallow drafted Cheetah Marine catamaran launched in 2006, and fully refitted during 2018 and acquired by SEP Hydrographic in May 2020. Pulsar is powered by twin Mercury 60HP four-stroke outboard engines which generate a cruising speed above 18 knots. With a shallow draft and twin-hull design, the vessel is exceptionally manoeuvrable even at slow survey speeds and provides an incredibly stable survey platform, ideal for shallow water surveys.

Mersey Discovery

Mersey Discovery is a 11.5m Redbay RIB with a shallow draft and a wide and fully enclosed wheelhouse making her ideal for nearshore survey operations. Full geophysical spread: Mersey Discovery is capable of accommodating a full geophysical spread including side scan sonar, shallow sub bottom profiler (Innomar), Boomer sub bottom profiler, and magnetometer.

Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs)

USV platforms provide an additional survey option to enhance acquisition productivity, or for locations where traditional vessel-based surveys are either unsafe or cost-prohibitive. USVs offer a range of advantages, including increased safety due to automated navigation and obstacle avoidance capabilities, longer operating times and reduced fuel costs.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)

We offer a range of UAV acquisition options either to supplement vessel-based surveys or as a standalone campaign. SEP operates a range of aircraft which can be tailored to the specific requirement and survey location. We provide UAV Surveys from both fixed-wing or multi-rotor platforms. The systems we use can be equipped with both LiDAR and photogrammetry payloads that would ordinarily be out of reach of land or vessel-based systems, whether that be using our vessel as an operating platform or operating independently. Our primary system for photogrammetry acquisition provides stable connectivity and reliability, five directions of obstacle sensing to ensure additional safety, and a dedicated remote controller with integrated screen offering superior precision and control.

Model ROV - Provide A Visual Inspection of Underwater Assets

We offer observation class ROV services to provide a visual inspection of underwater assets. Inspection or observation-class ROVs are a useful addition to our acoustic survey offering. Mobilised to Pulsar or a vessel of opportunity, we can quickly and easily deploy the ROV to give a visual inspection of the asset or target being studied. Using systems that are smaller, lighter with reduced power requirements increases the available platforms we are able to deploy from, with minimal impact on the performance. Their smaller size also allows the system to inspect areas inaccessible to more substantial, bulkier systems.
