Dialysis
Guardian - Low Range Water Hardness Test Strips
Serim® GUARDIAN™ WATER HARDNESS Test Strips provide a convenient means for indicating the level of hardness in water at the post-softener stage of the water treatment process in dialysis clinics, hospitals, food production, etc. Hardness is described as the total concentration of calcium and magnesium, expressed as ppm or grains/gallon of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Softening is a pre-treatment process for water which will undergo further purification, such as reverse osmosis (RO). RO membranes can be damaged by scale deposits arising from the use of “hard” water. These test strips are supplied in a ready-to-use form. When placed in contact with the softened water sample according to directions, the indicator pad changes color relative to the level of calcium and magnesium present. For more information refer to the Water Hardness product insert.
Residual
Guardian - Residual Chlorine Test Strips
Serim® GUARDIAN™ RESIDUAL CHLORINE Test Strips provide a rapid and convenient means for indicating the concentration of chlorine bleach (sodium hypochlorite) remaining in the solution used to rinse dialysate lines following disinfection of hemodialysis equipment. The qualitative rapid screening method can be used to determine that chlorine has been adequately rinsed from the machine. The semi-quantitative method may be useful where corrective measures are undertaken on machines dispensing unacceptable levels of chlorine for extended periods and for testing containers, i.e., “bicarb jugs,” disinfected with bleach. Results of 0.5 ppm or above indicate that further rinsing is necessary. For more information refer to the Residual Chlorine product insert.
Guardian - Residual Peroxide Test Strips
Serim® GUARDIAN™ RESIDUAL PEROXIDE Test Strips provide a rapid and convenient means for measuring the concentration of peroxide remaining in dialysate lines and dialyzers after disinfection with peracetic acid/peroxide-based disinfectants (such as Renalin®, Actril®, Minncare®, Puristeril®340, Peracidin®, PerAldecide™ and Micro-X®). Results of 3 ppm and above indicate that further rinsing is required. For more information refer to the Residual Peroxide product insert.
