Industrial Safety Sensors

Hydrogen Sulfide Electrochemical Sensor

SGX electrochemical sensors detect gases by producing a chemical reaction between the gas and oxygen contained in the sensor. This reaction produces a small current, which is proportional to the concentration of the gas present. The sensor is, in effect, a type of fuel cell.

Chlorine Electrochemical Sensor

Do not solder to the connector pins as this may damage the sensor and thereby invalidate the warranty.

Micro Electro Mechanical Pellistor System

This datasheet describes the use of the MP-7217 Pellistor. This is commonly used, but not exclusively, in mining applications. It is a low power, intrinsically safe, extremely robust and poison-resistant device in a certified flameproof enclosure. The MP-7217 has been designed to provide the basic sensor performance that will enable a suitable instrument to meet the various (Group 1) mining performance standards. The MP-7217 sensors, whilst being optimised for its methane response (up to 5% volume in air), will also detect some other flammable gases and vapours. Integrated Infra-Red Sensor

The Integrated IR (INIR) sensor has been designed with the latest technology, using a microcontroller with an ARM7 core and via software design the necessary techniques have been implemented to increase the reliability of the device therefore minimize the probability of faults. The INIR is a user friendly digital Gas Sensor, which is designed to use the latest SGX Sensortech’s Infrared technology. The sensor is designed to decrease the implementation time therefore increase productivity. The Integrated IR sensor incorporates the necessary electronics and embedded software to operate from a low voltage DC power supply. The sensor will process the raw signals to output a linear, temperature compensated signal proportional to the gas concentration applied. The output signal is available in digital and analogue forms.

Dual Gas Infra-Red Sensors

Infrared Dual Gas Sensor for Hazardous Environments (Portable and Fixed Systems) The SGX infrared sensors use the proven Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) principle to detect and monitor the presence of gases. With an infrared source and specific filtering on the pyroelectric detectors mounted inside the optical/gas cavity, individual gases or types of gas can be identified and their concentrations determined. These sensors are suitable for reliable monitoring of gas levels in general safety applications where the sensor size is restricted and require a flameproof enclosure for hazardous environments. The IR15 Series contain two active detector elements for simultaneous monitoring of Carbon Dioxide and Methane or Hydrocarbon mixtures in the same size housing as some of the single gas sensors from the IR1xxx series sensors, making the sensor more cost effective than two separate sensors.

Automotive Air Quality Sensors

Compact MOS Sensor

The MiCS 2714 is a robust MEMS sensor for nitrogen dioxide and leakage detection.

Indoor Air Quality Sensors

Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Sensor

The MiCS-VZ-87 combines state-of-the-art MOS sensor technology with intelligent detection algorithms to monitor VOCs and C02 equivalent variations in confined spaces, e.g. meeting rooms or vehicle cabins. The signal output can be used to control ventilation on-demand, saving energy and reducing cost-of-ownership.

Battery Leakage Detection

Battery Leakage Detection Sensor (H2)

BLD1 is a Battery Failure Detection sensor that measures H2 concentration when different battery leakage occur through CAN communication. The module has to be placed in the battery enclosure allowing to sense H2 gas generated during a failure mode. BLD1 solution allow Battery Management System (BMS) to monitor the safe operation of the battery and send an earlier signal during a thermal runaway warning to give time to passengers to leave the vehicle safely.

Battery Leakage Detection Sensor (H2+Co)

BLD2 is a Battery Failure Detection sensor that measures H2 concentration when different battery leakage occur through CAN communication. The module has to be placed in the battery enclosure allowing to sense H2 gas generated during a failure mode. BLD2 solution allow Battery Management System (BMS) to monitor the safe operation of the battery and send an earlier signal during a thermal runaway warning to give time to passengers to leave the vehicle safely.
