Around the world, Bag Openers are working in the first phase of many recycling operations. These bag openers not only ri or split the b ags, but also empty and meter the content onto a conveyor. Materials are spearated and prepared for downstream sorting and picking processes without being shredded into smaller pieces. Bag Splitters  also act as bale breakers or metering devices.

Sherbrooke OEM apron conveyors are entirely designed and manufactured in-house. The various parts are carefully selected to ensure the best possible use in different applications. Our apron conveyors are known for their durability and low maintenance. They are used in a multitude of applications, including feeding conveyors for construction, renovation and demolition (CRD) residues, household waste, selective collection (blue bin), the scrap metal industry, and more.

Eagle Vizion optical sorting units, the former process of sorting certain materials by hand can now be automated. In fact, thanks to Near Infra-Red (NIR) detection, different types of materials can be detected, recognized, and then separated. Colour-detection and line-scan cameras are also available.

Our trommels are known for being heavy duty and low maintenance. Originally designed for harsh operations in plants handling construction, renovation and demolition (CRD) materials, their design ensures longer life. What’s a trommel ? It’s a rotary screen separator. Sherbrooke OEM is a trommel manufacturer that designs the trommel based on the desired application.
Our rotary trommels are comprised of two important sections: the rotating drum and the sub-structure/traction system.

Our star-shaped screens (also called `Stargears`) are widely used for different applications to remove fine material, dust and earth. In fields such as construction, renovation and demolition (CRD), earth is removed to be reused as a non-structuring material or as cover material for landfills. When treating organic matter, only the organic matter - sand/earth and small pieces of glass - will be removed. As for selective collection (blue bin or `single stream`), only small pieces of fibre and plastic will be removed.

Design of glass breakers to remove glass from different types of residue. Our glass breakers are used mainly in plants that treat selective collection residue (blue bin, PVM or `single stream`) or treat containers only. Strategically positioned in the treatment process of these materials, our glass breakers make it possible to remove the maximum amount of glass found in the processed materials.

Our OCC (old corrugated cardboard) sorters are largely used to treat materials from selective collections (blue bin or `single stream`) and different types of fibre waste. These extract cardboard from the containers and fibres from materials. They are also used to clean fibres from the cardboard or vice-versa. OCC sorters make it possible to mechanically remove the cardboard instead of manually. A quality control of the cardboard removed also ensures the quality of the finished product.

Integration of Hydropulpers to treat organic waste. To a partnership with Promeco, we offer hydropulper units. This equipment enables the separation of heterogeneous mixtures of residues containing two or more different products. The separation occurs when the products are diluted in water, involving a process with two distinct phases.

The integration of slow/fast shredders in various processes, thanks to a partnership with Promeco, makes it possible to condition material at the beginning of the process or prepare it as a final product. In fact, primary shredders can be used at the beginning of the process to regulate the size of material. These shredders can also be used as bag `openers` when integrated with an automated sorting plant.

Integration of balers for paper, plastic, metals, aluminum and other types of materials. The integration of balers in different recycling treatment processes facilitates the marketing of their products. We offer two types of balers: single or dual ram balers.
