In this system, agricultural products are transferred and sorted on the tray equipped with ID chip. This system is very popular as a perfect no-drop sorting system which handles agricultural products gently in Japan among many users. Two systems are available: the Fully Automated System connected with automatic feeding machines, automatic casing machines, carton formers, carton sealers and palletizers as conprehensive System-Plant. the Semi-Automated System is flexible and can be specifically designed to meet customer demands of manual system.

Agricultural products are placed on a square bucket conveyor and are gently discharged into receiving boxes by tilting the bucket to the side. The system can be used for weight or shape measurement methods. There are two types: the simple One Lane /Single Grade type arranged in tiers featuring high operating efficiency, and the compact One Lane Multi Grade type which can simultaneously sort multiple grades through the visual grading area, and can be used with an internal quality sensor. The machine length can be shortened by setting it up to discharge from both side lines. For items of grades that tend to be accumulated, boxing can be adjusted by dispersed discharge.

The shape and size ofJapanese basil leaves called “ooba” are graded by a robot equipped with a precision CCD camera. Then the leaves are sorted by arranging them together by their petioles and aligning a batch of leaves at a preset pitch. Operating efficiency can be improved by installing an automatic supply unit (option) to the sorter.
