SIMEC Atlantis Energy services
Turbines & Engineering Services
Atlantis offers full service and maintenance contracts to support its products for the life of field. Typically, a tidal turbine will have a scheduled maintenance interval of between 5 – 7 years and a design life of 25 years. In addition to turbine supply and support, our engineering services division designs, supplies and maintains subsea connection equipment and can offer the client full offshore support for installation campaigns as and when required. We can remotely monitor and operate a field on behalf of the project owner, and we can process all of the data generated by a project and use this data to make performance and reliability improvements.
Operations and Maintenance Services
AR1500 and SeaGen turbines have been designed for retrieval once every six years for an overhaul and maintenance program which should take approximately two weeks. A standard DP2 vessel can be used to retrieve the nacelles and return them to base for these programmed maintenance activities. Both systems have on board health monitoring systems to assist maintenance crews in planning future maintenance campaigns. Each field of turbines is monitored 24/7 and is controlled remotely via a standard SCADA system. Data collected from each turbine can be used for fault diagnosis, proactive maintenance planning and to improve turbine and array performance.
