Customized Surface Coating Services

Our proprietary barrier technology offers an expansive list of benefits, making it superior to anything else on the market. The revolutionary coating system allows SiO2 to work with customers from various industries to unveil new possibilities and introduce products to the market successfully. Providing an innovative solution to packaging, SiO2’s patented barrier technology combines the best qualities of plastic and glass containers. The patented plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) process chemically applies a unique glass-like thin barrier (nanometers) on to any plastic surface.

Advanced Polymer Molding Services

SiO2 primary containers start by molding medical-grade polymers into complex-shaped vials, syringes, and cartridges. This is accomplished by either injection-stretch-blow molding of vials or straight injection molding of syringes and cartridges. Specialty engineering polymers, such as cyclic olefins, are used due to their excellent clarity, impact strength, tight dimensional tolerance, low leachables, and thermal stability. State-of-art thermal imaging and particle detection cameras ensure the containers meet the highest dimensional and particle standards, respectively.

Feasibility Studies Services

At SiO2, we use our advanced materials science to help our clients bring their innovations to life. As much of what we do is about helping you do what others cannot, we offer our team to work hand in hand with you on feasibility studies. Unlike other companies, we do not charge for this. We assign a project manager to work cross-functionally with our clients to define a scope of work and execute various studies to drive feasibility. We have our internal lab led by some of the leading experts in materials science, and our network of MIT, UC Santa Barbara, University of Chicago, and Auburn University professors to support the most complicated problems. Our Science Board provides us access to the greatest minds across the key disciplines of chemistry, engineering, and materials science.

Program Management Services

A dedicated program manager is assigned for each customer project, who works with our customer/partner to understand the needs of the program and ensure that all milestones/critical deliverables are met on time and in budget. We understand the importance of the hitting the dates from a CMC, regulatory and strategic planning standpoint and hence apply the scientific approach of concurrent engineering to achieve quicker response times, faster product development, and reduced waste.
