Piezometers
Sisgeo - Vibrating Wire Piezometers
Vibrating wire piezometers are used to monitor pore-water pressure in soils. They are typically sealed in boreholes but can also be embedded in fills, or suspended in a well. Typical applications include evaluating slope stability, dewatering and drainage schemes, overpressure in silt and clay soils, permeability and hydraulic gradients in dams, and also ground water levels. They can also be used to monitor up-lift pressures in gravity dams.
Piezo - Resistive Piezometers
Piezo-resistive piezometers, also called semiconductor piezometers or strain gauge piezometers, are very accurate pressure transducers suitable for high frequency readings and short term applications. Their robust 4-20mA output signals are easy to read and automate with OMNIAlog and suitable for long-distance transmissions. They can be connected to seismic dataloggers for monitoring rapid changes in pore-water pressure such as those produced by earthquakes.
Sisgeo - Vibrating Wire Multipoint Piezometers
Multipoint vibrating wire piezometers, also called multilevel piezometers, provide measurements of pore-water pressure at different elevations in the same borehole. Isolation of the pore-water pressure at each elevation is achieved by the fully-grouted installation method.
Inclinometers and Tiltmeters
Sisgeo - Quick Joint Inclinometer Casing
Sisgeo QJ tube is an alternative to the traditional inclinometer casings, mainly designed for earth-fill dam and deep boreholes applications. QJ tube offers consistent joint and deeper tube grooves. O-rings prevent ingress of grout or water. The fitted-at-factory casings and the alignment keys assure a perfect grooves continuity. QJ fast installation reduce costs and limit drilling rig stand-by.
Sisgeo - Flush Coupled Inclinometer Casing
Inclinometers are special grooved tubes, generally installed in a borehole, used in conjunction with inclinometer system to monitor horizontal soil movements. Flush-coupled inclinometer casing is a special ABS grooved tube, machined at the end to have a self-aligning junction. It is produced from high-quality virgin ABS plastic. During manufacturing particular attention is paid to minimise the spiral of the casing grooves and to machine the aligning key for casing junction with self-aligning couplings. Casing sections are assembled by means of couplings glued together, riveted and sealed with mastic and tape.
Pendulums
Sisgeo - Optical Pendulum Readout
Optical coordinometer is a device designed to detect the coordinates (X-Y) of the plumb line on a horizontal surface. The measuring principle is based on high-accuracy photecells able to detect the pendulum wire position: the coordinates are read with the IP67 dial gauge fixed on the coordinometer. The instrument can be also used on the TEL-310S telecordinometer measuring plate in the case that it need to be removed for service or repairing.
Settlement Gauges
Sisgeo - Liquid Level Systems
The H-Level is the automatic liquid level system for accurate long-term monitoring of differential settlements in buildings, tunnels, and other civil structures.
Sisgeo - Multipoint Settlement Gauges
The multipoint settlement systems consist of a number of hydraulic settlement gauge connected by tubing to a reference tank located on higher, stable ground.
Pressure and Load Cells
Sisgeo - Hydraulic Pressure Cells
Hydraulic pressure cells are designed to measure stress in mass concrete or placed at the interface between the structure and the wall of excavation. The pressure pad consists of two steel plates welded together around their periphery and spaced apart by a narrow cavity saturated under vacuum with de-aired oil which guarantee maximum rigidity. A length of high-pressure rilsan tubing connects the cavity of the pressure pad to the pressure transducer. A repressurizing device is available for expanding the cell after the concrete has cured. Readings are obtained with portable readout units or dataloggers.
