SmartFLOE Flow Estimation System provides a low-cost, low maintenance, high reliability means for flow measurement and communication. SmartTrend is proprietary, patented software built into every SmartCover system analyzing past and current sewer conditions to anticipate future issues and potential overflows. Based on the detection of subtle day-over-day changes happening inside pipes buried underground, easy to read online reports are used to show where and when the anomalous activity is happening.

SmartWeir is a real time monitoring system for determining start, stop, duration times, and overflow volume of a combined sewer overflow (CSO) event using real-time measurement of water flow over a weir in a variety of CSO and non-CSO structures and outfalls. This system includes a remote water level sensor, advanced satellite communications, automatic reporting and 24/7/365 data access via a web browser.

The usual prescription for sewer systems plagued by a history of progressive, relatively fast-occurring build-ups and blockages is to create a rigorous program of cleaning to avoid sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs). This process, termed high frequency cleaning (HFC), requires continuous application of human resources and equipment to stay `ahead of the system.` While HFC can be successful at lowering instances of SSOs, HFC has substantial and continuous operational costs. HFC also promotes over-cleaning, pipeline deterioration and shortening the lifetime of expensive underground assets. In spite of this, spills still occur between cleanings because there is no real-time visibility of sewer conditions.
