Flow Meters - Liquid Flow Meters

SMC - Ultrasonic Flow Meters

Ultrasonic flow meters are flow meters offering a number of advantages over other traditional liquid flow measuring technologies. The most distinct of these advantages is the non-invasive nature of the ultrasonic measuring technique: fluid flow can be measured by clamping a pair of transducers onto the outside of the pipe without contacting the measured fluid. Today, ultrasonic and electromagnetic fluid flow meter technologies represent over 60% of all liquid flow measurement techniques used in industry.

Flow Meters - Magnetic Flow Meters

SMC - Inline-Type Magnetic Flow Meter

The ALMAGWP is an inline-type, general purpose electromagnetic flow meter with flanged connections. This versatile water flow meter is available for nominal pipe sizes ranging from ½” through 80″ and can detect fluid velocities ranging from less than 0.2 mps to 12 mps.

SMC - Battery Powered Magnetic Flowmeter

SmartMeasurement’s ALMAGBAT is a battery powered magnetic flow meter mainly used in water applications. The ALMAGBAT’s display/converter module is equipped with a replaceable lithium battery that can be used for up to three years of continuous operation. The operation period can be extended by using a high-capacity battery instead of our standard lithium battery.

Flow Meters - Coriolis Flow Meters

SMC - Delta-Tubed Coriolis Mass Flow Meter

Smart Measurement’s ALCM-DT delta-tubed Coriolis mass flow meters use two tubes formed into a triangle shape, or delta, in a parallel arrangement. These delta tubes are vibrated at their resonant frequency by coils. Any mass flow passing through the tubes will generate Coriolis forces, which are created whenever a mass moves radially in a rotating system. These forces have opposite effects on the inlet and outlet sides, deforming each tube by a minor amount.

Flow Meters - Positive Displacement Flow Meters

SMS - Bi-Rotor Positive Displacement Meter

The SMC ALBRPD flowmeter features two precisely machined rotating members known as helical rotors which rotate and mesh within the meter’s interior housing in order to form a measuring chamber of known volume which may be used to accurately determine volumetric flow rate as a funtion of the rotors’ velocity. The helical rotors’ motion is transmitted to the display via a sealed coupling & drive system that enables the display to provide accurate data for both flow rate and total accumulated flow. The unique helical rotor design provides a number of advantages over traditional gear-type PD meters including reduced pressure drop, the virtual elimination of down-stream pulsations, enhanced particle tolerance, and reduced maintenance. The advantages provided by the helical rotor make the ALBRPD an ideal choice for many applications including oil-in-water media and fluids with small ammounts of entrained solids.

SMC - Oval Gear Positive Displacement Meter

The SmartMeasurement ALOVPD Oval gear flowmeter features two precisely machined rotating elliptical (oval) gears which rotate and mesh within the meter’s interior housing in order to form a measuring chamber of known volume which may be used to accurately determine volumetric flow rate as a function of the gears’ velocity. The design of the oval gear meter makes it an ideal choice for high viscosity and high pressure applications as it provides superior accuracy while offering reduced pressure drop versus traditional circular-gear type PD meters. The ALOVPD meter comes with a rugged battery-powered display module that indicates flow rate and totalized flows in user-configurable engineering units.

Flow Meters - Differential Pressure (DP) Flow Meters & Primary Elements

SMC - Cone Differential Pressure Meter

SmartMeasurement’s ACONE differential pressure flowmeter is designed for the harshest operating environments and the widest variety of fluids. This sensor consistently outperforms traditional ΔP devices and other major flow technologies. The ACONE’s enhanced performance is due to the shape and position of a fixed-cone inside of the flow body in relation to the ΔP measurement ports. The cone interacts with the flow, reshaping the fluid’s velocity profile and creating a region of lower pressure immediately downstream of itself. Two pressure taps are designed to measure the differential pressure between the static line pressure and the low-pressure zone created downstream of the cone. Flow is calculated by the Bernoulli equation of conservation of energy. The cone shape also acts as its own flow conditioner, fully conditioning any turbulence inflow due to limited upstream and downstream straight runs.

SMC - Differential Pressure Transmitters

The ALDPT-3051 is an intelligent differential pressure transmitter making use of advanced microprocessor technology with digital communication. This instrument makes use of advanced capacitive sensor technology and is capable of measuring all three media phases – liquids, gasses, and steam. The ALDPT-3051 includes an array of features including self-diagnostic capability, field-adjustable parameter settings, and auto-zeroing at a much lower price versus competitive offerings. Available outputs include 4-20 mA, 1-5 VDC, HART, and Foundation Fieldbus. The wide selection of materials of construction, optional accessories, and communication outputs available for the ALDPT-3051 make it suitable for nearly any differential pressure measurement application.

Pressure Transmitters

SMS - Gauge and Absolute Pressure Transmitters

The ALDPT-3051 GP and AP are intelligent differential pressure transmitters that combine proven capacitive sensor measuring techniques (piezoresistive sensors for absolute pressure models) with advanced microprocessor technology. By making use of advanced microprocessor technology, the ALPDT-3051 is able to offer features that include self-diagnostics, field parameter adjustment, auto-zeroing, and digital communication capabilities; at significantly lower prices versus competitive models.

SMC - Multi-Variable Differential Pressure Transmitter

The ALDPT-MV measures three separate process variables simultaneously and provides dynamic calculation of fully compensated mass flow rate for steam and liquids as well as standard volume flow for gases. It measures differential pressure and absolute pressure from a single sensor and process temperature from a standard PT 100 Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD). Flow calculation includes compensation of pressure and/or temperature as well as more complex variables such as discharge coefficient, thermal expansion, Reynolds number and compressibility factor.
