Every wireless sensor network (WSN) deployed with our ATRAX products requires a network coordinator, which the Smart Gateway fulfills. The working relationship between the A-Links (nodes) and the gateway allows the creation of a private WSN, enabling the transmission and reception of data collected across the SpiderMesh network. A SpiderMesh WSN is independent of existing infrastructure and requires no network configuration.

The PRGEN-REP extends or solidifies a preexisting SpiderMesh network by repeating each message that passes through the network. The repeater is the backbone of the SpiderMesh network; it allows to connect different sensors that would usually be out of range with the gateway. Indeed, it is common to use repeaters in each deployment, especially when obstacles make communication challenging to access. 

PORTIA radio transceivers developed by Smartrek Technologies leverage the advanced SpiderMesh protocol to extend the wireless network range in demanding applications. These devices support synchronous communication, effectively resolving network contention challenges. Each transceiver can be assigned as a gateway or node within the SpiderMesh ecosystem. Gateways mediate data exchanges and establish connectivity with external networks, while nodes efficiently act as intermediaries, ensuring bidirectional digital or analog communication. The system simplifies deployment by requiring alignment only in radio frequency between nodes and the existing network. Offering two serial communication modes, including a transparent mode for universal data transfer and an API mode for targeted interactions, the PORTIA transceivers are adaptable for various technical environments. Enhanced with an embedded virtual machine and hardware resources, such as digital/analog ports, these devices support sensor automation and real-time applications through user-defined scripts. This integration reduces installation challenges and enables cost-effective, swift sensor deployment.
