Stack Monitoring Inspections Services

Simon spent almost 20 years in the CRE stack-emission monitoring team. One of his principal duties was the inspection of stack-emission monitoring facilities as part of site reviews to pave the way for subsequent practical emission monitoring work. The number of sites visited in the UK and overseas runs into hundreds. This work culminated in a large project carried out on behalf of the Environment Agency to assess the suitability of stack-emission monitoring facilities and degree of compliance with published guidance from a range of IPC sites.

Advice On Standards Services

Simon is a member of BSI committee EH2/1 and Comité of European Normalisation (CEN) Technical Committee 264 (Working Group 19). As such he is well placed to offer advice and guidance on standard methods for stack-emission monitoring.

Pollution Prevention & Control Services

Most PPC Permits stipulate that MCERTS-approved services, equipment and facilities are used for all environmental monitoring work. Simon can provide guidance on how to interpret the regulations, including the provision of training courses covering regulatory monitoring requirements for example the Environment Agency Operator Monitoring Assessment Scheme (OMA).

Auditing Of Environmental Compliance Services

Simon is a qualified UKAS technical assessor. In addition to work carried out directly for UKAS, he also provides advice and guidance on accreditation and quality management systems as well as acting as an external auditor for commercial clients. Simon also provides auditing services to Sira Environmental Ltd in the field of manufacturing quality under the MCERTS schemes for continuous emission monitoring and continuous ambient monitoring systems.
