Process Safety Equipment
SFC - Patented Coupler
Smith Flow Control’s Bajolock is designed and manufactured from high quality 316L Stainless Steel and incorporates market leading gaskets, suitable for wide ranging applications to include tank and transfer systems in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry, shipping, pipe, bulk and road transportation and the food and beverage industry. The patented safety system ensures that operator incidents are eliminated while opening the coupler under pressure. SFC’s Bajolock couplers are designed and manufactured according to the Pressure Equipment Directive and bear the CE mark. SFC’s Bajolock couplers are interchangeable with existing, similar quick couplers enabling instant integration at plant.
SFC - Model QL - Interlocks Valves
QL valve interlocks suit all types of lever operated quarter turn valves, including ball, butterfly, and plug valves. Available in single key (QL1) or double key (QL2) versions, locking the valve in either the open or closed position, or if the QL2 version is specified, the valve can be locked in both the open and closed position, forming part of a comprehensive range of process interlock safety systems. Available with ‘tailor made’ concentric mounted bespoke valve attachments.
SFC - Model GL - Interlocks Valve for Hand Operated Valves
GL valve interlocks suit all types of handwheel operated valves, including gate, globe, and gear-operated valves. Available in single key (GL1) or double key (GL2) versions, locking the valve in either the open or closed position, or if the GL2 version is specified, the valve can be locked in both the open and closed position, forming part of a comprehensive range of process interlock safety systems.
SFC - Actuated (MOV) Valves
The most common requirement for key interlocking of power-actuated valves occurs in Pig Launcher/Receiver systems, Scraper Traps and Sand Filter systems etc, where power actuated valves need to be interlocked with manually-operated valves and vessel closures.
SFC - Visual Alert Key Cabinets
SFC’s ‘Visual Alert’ Key Cabinets provide an effective and infallible management control system against unauthorized or inadvertent operation of interlocked valves or associated process equipment by keeping the coded keys, which initiate the operation of critical valves, under secure supervisory control. For storage, ease of access and issue, SFC’s key cabinets, provide all that is required. Typically, a key cabinet will be found in a secure place; e.g. a control room whereby initiating keys are issued by the Shift Supervisor, Offshore Installation Manager or another person in authority. Cabinets vary in size and can accommodate from 1 – 280 system initiating (or spare) keys. Keys can be stored on hooks or holsters (The holster design provides increased capacity).
SFC - Lock Out / Tag Out
Where security lock-off devices are required to provide mechanical locking of manual operators, SFC offer a full complement of security and commissioning tools. If sequential control is unnecessary but a secure lock is required, the SFC range of security products can provide the solution you need.
Valve Operation Equipments
SFC EasiDrive - Portable Valve Actuator System
SFC’s EasiDrive portable valve actuator effortlessly opens and closes valves in oil refineries, chemical and power plants, water and wastewater facilities and paper mills. The tool is especially effective on valves that require a high number of turns or are otherwise difficult to operate because of high torque or where adverse climates (sub-zero, tropical, dessert environments) make operations more challenging. It has several key features that make it exceptional. One operator can efficiently work banks of valves with a single tool, whilst reducing fatigue and risk of injury; this can result in major cost and time savings. The EasiDrive system is versatile and can be powered by air, electricity or battery. Torque of up to 950NM can be generated, depending on the client’s choice of equipment.
SFC FlexiDrive - Remote Cable Drive Operator
FlexiDrive is a versatile product consisting of two stations, joined by a linear drive cable, which enables valves and other wheel operated devices in remote, hard-to-reach or hazardous locations to be operated with ease from a conveniently located handwheel. FlexiDrive can be applied to any conventional wheel-operated valve/device. It is suitable for underwater use and the most extreme climatic conditions. The cable system can deliver torque output for most manual valve operations and transmits drive up to 30 metres from the operator station. The flexible cable system facilitates up to 540° of bends in the cable run.
