SPI - Petro Plug
Petro-Plugs are disposable oil barriers that are more effective and less expensive than oil/water separators. Designed to fit standard piped floor drains in boiler rooms, garages, warehouses, oil storage areas and underground vaults, the Petro-Plug removes low levels of diesel, gasoline and oils while allowing water to flow through as usual. Depending on the drain diameter, Petro-Plugs installed in vertical drains have a flow rate of 1-3 gallons per minute. Uncontaminated water drains at approximately 5 quarts per minute with standard-sized floor drains. If an oil spill occurs, the Petro-Plug seals off. This shuts off any flow into sewer lines, sump pits, oil/water separators, catch basins, etc., allowing spills to be cleaned up at the source and potentially saving thousands of dollars in cleanup costs and fines.
SPI - Petro Pipes
When a high water table, poor-draining soil or other factors make vertical drainage into the ground difficult or impossible, discharge of water from a containment area can still be accomplished horizontally through a Petro-Pipe. In these cases, a berm, curb or wall can be installed to hold back rainwater that might also contain oil. Installing several Petro-Pipes through concrete, asphalt or earth will trap the oil while allowing uncontaminated water to pass through.Since water drainage works best vertically due to gravity, a Petro-Pipe is not as efficient at moving water as a Petro-Barrier. Therefore, more surface area is required when using Petro-Pipes than when using vertically draining barriers. A 25-degree minimum slope from inlet to discharge is recommended for flow rates of 2.5 to 3 gallons per minute.
SPI - Petro Barriers
Designed for the largest volume of water drainage in a good drainage field with a vertical type installation, Petro-Barriers™ are custom-designed and manufactured in our factory and delivered to your facility/facilities. Land slope, under-drain percolation rates, rainfall amount, containment area size and other factors are all considered in the system design. Large containment areas or installations in wet climates might require six or more sumps whereas a small area in a low-rainfall climate might need only one or two Petro-Barriers™. Because of this variability, our customers rely on our extensive experience to design the optimum spill containment system.
SPI - Pump Thru Barriers
Pump-Thru-Barriers are a popular product because of their versatility and durability. The gauge mounted on the intake line measures the rate of flow of water passing into the Barrier. When the flow decreases to a certain rate it is time to change filters. With the recent addition of an external filter this is a simple process. The external plastic case is removed and the treated paper filter inside is replaced and the apparatus is re-attached for use.
SPI - Stormwater Petro Barriers
SPI’s Storm Water Petro-Barriers provide the Quintessential Oil-Spill Containment System for any Industrial and Municipal Setting where hydrocarbons are stored. Now you can Guarantee Your Property’s Total Compliance by completely isolating any designated area from all threats of an Oil-Spill that could potentially contaminate Public Waterways and/or Municipal Sewer Lines causing Compliance Issues and Penalties.
SPI - Sealed and Portable Containment Liners
All of SPI’s Containment Liners are engineered as “Complete Oil-Spill Containment Systems,” proven to Prevent Oil Spills and Drain Unwanted Rainwater at all times using “Patented Technology”. SPI’s Containment Liner Systems are “Completely Sealed” leaving nothing to chance where your Valuable Property and Total Compliance are concerned. Contact SPI to get information about our dependable Liners.
SPI - Portable Containment Berms
SPI Containment Berms include collapsible, quick-setup straps for interior or exterior use with rigid angle supports that provide wall stability for horizontal drainage. SPI also offers lift and lock wall support where the wall support is built into the berm. This requires no interior or exterior straps and thus eliminates trip hazards. Most SPI Berm Systems utilize a Petro-Pipe® to prevent oil or hydrocarbon release into the environment but their sturdy structure makes them ideal for containment of hazardous wastes. Before use, the berm material should be tested, to be sure the hazardous waste does not cause any deterioration of the berm material. SPI Berms are ideal for decontamination of personnel and equipment where the wash water is contained until it is removed by a vacuum truck.
Portable Oil/Chemical Containment Easy Strap Berm
With SPI spill berms and spill containment, you get: single-piece construction containment products that have no parts to lose. no assembly required, which helps with compliance and use issues. the smallest storage footprint available for all berm products, customized products to meet your specific requirements, unparalleled quality and service. The inside-strap design allows for easy setup, while the absence of exterior straps is ideal for tight spaces and to prevent tripping hazards. The quick-berm outside strap design allows for quick and easy setup and removal for storage.
SPI - Angle Bracket Berms
The SPI Angle Bracket Berm is a one-piece, thermally bonded spill and secondary spill containment berm. It`s light enough to carry but tough enough to contain vehicles, generators or even above-ground oil tanks and electrical transformers — whether energized or spares. Unlike other containment berms, setup is simple and quick: Just unfold and insert the in-wall angled iron brackets. SPI Angle Bracket Berms are available with wall heights ranging from 8" to two feet, for the smallest and largest oil/chemical containment needs. The berms can be equipped with Petro-Pipes® for water drainage and total oil containment.
