Somat - Model SPC-50S - Waste Reduction System
The Somat SPC-50S Waste Reduction System processes up to 900 lbs. of food service waste per hour providing an economic and efficient answer to cutting the high and ever increasing costs associated with waste handling. Somat Pulping Systems are engineered to reduce foodservice waste volume by an 8 to 1 reduction (up to 85%.) Compostable waste enters the pulping tank via the feed tray or scrapping trough where it mixes with water and is ground into a slurry. The slurry is fed to the Hydra-Extractor for de-watering and the result is a semi-dry pulp discharged into a haul-away container or a Somat Dehydrator for additional reduction. The extracted water is recovered and returned to the pulping tank for re-use by the tray or trough.

Somat Pulping Systems are engineered to reduce foodservice waste volume by an 8 to 1 reduction (up to 85%.) Compostable waste enters the pulping tank via the feed tray or scrapping trough where it mixes with water and is ground into a slurry. Remote Waste Pulping System
Somat - Model D-5 - Food Waste Grinder
The Somat D-5 Food Waste Grinder is one part of a Remote Pulping System. Somat food grinders are engineered to process food waste and are typically placed in pot and pan washing and food prep areas. Standard features include a 5 HP drive motor and return pump. The main benefits of a Somat Remote Pulping System are Reduction and Transportation. A remote system connects food prep and scrapping areas together through a series of piping and transports food service waste to a remote extractor. The extractor removes the solids (pulp) and recirculates the water back to the grinding tanks. The pulping process provides an 8 to 1 volume reduction (up to 85%.) The pulp is fed into a Somat Dehydrator for additional reduction or directly into a dumpster. A remote pulping system reduces the need for trash cans, liners and laborers to “take out the trash”.

Somat - Model B - Heavy-Duty Food Waste Disposers
Waste chamber design permits dual directional operation when used with reversing control or switch, doubling the life cycle of the shattering mechanism. Regular waste chamber available with an 81⁄4" throat size. Basic body components are cast gray iron, machined, primed and powder coated. 105⁄8" Diameter rotor/turntable with exclusive adjustable 45° angle and 6 integral impact breakers constructed of hardened ductile steel alloy for long life use. Matching 45° sizing ring with 24 grind teeth constructed of hardened ductile steel alloy. Bolt-on, threaded discharge flange for easy removal (2" pipe size). Stainless steel legs and feet, adjustable from 0" to 2". Disposer connects to Cone or Sink Assembly by means of a neoprene isolation sleeve and (2) stainless steel clamps. Offset Design: For maximum space utilization.

Design and Construction: Waste chamber design permits dual directional operation when used with reversing control or switch, doubling the life cycle of the shattering mechanism. Regular waste chamber available with 81⁄4" throat size. Basic body components are cast gray iron, machined, primed and powder coated. 8" diameter rotor with (2) bolt-on reversible impact bars and sizing ring are cast ductile iron, machined, balanced and heat treated. Bolt on threaded discharge flange for easy removal (2" pipe size). Stainless steel legs and feet, adjustable from 0" to 2". Disposer connects to Cone or Sink Assembly by means of a neoprene isolation sleeve and (2) stainless steel clamps. Offset Design: For maximum space utilization.
Mini Grinding System
Somat - Model MP4/B-5 - Food Waste Reduction System
The SOMAT MP4/B5 Food Waste Reduction System features a Master B-5 Food Grinder, Somat MP4 Mini Press and a SOM-A-TROL control panel with pushbutton station. The grinder can be mounted in a trough, table or sink. Food waste enters the grinder and mixes with water where it is ground into a slurry. The slurry is automatically transported through a pipeline to the MP4 Mini Press, where water is removed and the resultant semi-dry pulp is discharged into a haul-away container. The extracted water can be recovered and returned to the grinder with an optional return pump. The MP4/B5 Food Waste Reduction System can be engineered to fit in most scrapping areas, existing or new. It can even replace an current disposer. The MP4 Mini Press can be installed anywhere within 8 feet of the grinder, facing any direction, it can even fit under a table to maximize space.

Somat - Model DH-100w - Waste Dehydrator System
The Somat DH-100 is a waste management system that processes waste for medium to large foodservice facilities and institutions. Compostable waste is dehydrated using an energy efficient and automated process. The DH-100 is easy to install, maintain and requires no fresh water connection. Paddles macerate the waste heated by the unit`s storage chamber to kill any bacteria and reduces the waste matter by up to 93%, producing a dry, earthy material that may be used as an accelerant in a composting process. Somat’s patented Dryness Sensing Technology allows for proper processing time regardless of batch size. Combine with a Somat Pulper for a complete waste management system.
The Grabber
Somat - Grabber Attracts Flatware
The Grabber attracts flatware, cans, bottles, cups, pens, paper clips and other ferrous metal items from the waste stream flow zone. The powerful patented focused grabber magnetic system is specifically engineered to grab ferrous metal objects and hold them out of the waste flow as it travels down the trough to the pulper or garbage disposal system. The metal objects remain within convenient reach of the scrapping operation for easy removal. Operators are able to work faster knowing the Grabber will grab and hold any flatware of other ferrous metal they may have missed.
