Sonic Soil`s highly mobile technicians can reach uncommonly difficult areas such as; environmentally sensitive locations, inside buildings, in bermed areas, busy streets, parking lots and active gas stations, as well as remote sites only accessible by float planes and helicopters. We also install wells for the purpose of monitoring soil gas and water in the sub-surface. Our crews have investigated areas such as French Guyana, Brazil, a Bank Vault in downtown Toronto.

The Pionjar120 Soil Sampling System is portable, enabling the unit to be carried into environmentally sensitive and/or densely vegetated areas. The complete system is compact and can be transported by aircraft, helicopter, pick-up, van or a 4X4 vehicle. The system is being used to drill alluvial sediments, laterites, saprolites and caliche materials in South America, Central America, and Africa.

Our crews use the Pionjar 120 System to sample mine tailings and sediments using AQ or BQ-sized sampling tools. Unconsolidated tailings, sediments, and sludges can be retrieved in a clear lexan liner for easy sample logging, storage and transport.

Our crews also operate portable equipment for soil load testing and Standard Penetration Tests (SPT). The automatic Dynamic Ram Sounder is a portable and accurate method (Swedish Standard) of obtaining soil load-bearing profiles. Our crews can also be equipped with a manual system for Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) and a vane tester kit for shear strength testing. All of our crews operate concrete coring machines with diamond bits capable of drilling 2.5 inch, 4 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch, and 12 inch diameter cores in concrete floors and walls, as well as paved roads and highways.
