Sonobotics - Model SONUS EVO Lite - Ultrasonic Testing System for Robotics
The SONUS EVO Lite is an advanced ultrasonic testing (UT) system, noted for being the world's lightest EMAT acquisition system. It facilitates non-contact UT by integrating seamlessly with robotic systems, thanks to its compatibility with the Robotic Operating System (ROS) and incredibly compact, modular design. Utilizing the existing onboard processor of robots, it achieves deep hardware and software integration. This compact system weighs less than 150 grams and consumes under 1.5 watts, marking significant improvements in efficiency compared to its predecessor, the SONUS EVO. Its dual-channel EMAT probes enable detailed and accurate simultaneous thickness and defect monitoring without the need for surface preparation or couplant, supporting applications in structural health monitoring, corrosion assessment, and material property measurement. It operates across a bandwidth of 2-5 MHz, with a robust A/D converter and supports USB 3 communication, enhancing its functionality within robotic inspection scenarios.
Sonobotics - Model SONUS EVO - Compact EMAT-based Robotic Ultrasonic Examination System
The SONUS EVO represents a leap forward in non-destructive testing, offering a compact and lightweight solution for advanced ultrasonic examination using Electro-Magnetic Acoustic Transducers (EMATs). It is an all-in-one EMAT acquisition system designed specifically for seamless integration with robotic platforms via the Robotic Operating System (ROS). Weighing in at under 250 grams and consuming less than 7 watts of power, the SONUS EVO provides significant signal strength and energy efficiency improvements over previous generations. Capable of conducting wireless non-contact testing, it enables ultrasonic assessment without surface preparation, making it ideal for applications such as material thickness mapping and defect detection. The system supports both thickness and anisotropy characterization and accommodates high temperatures and minimal surface preparation. Its built-in WiFi and onboard signal processing capabilities offer fully wireless functionality, processing A-scans and displaying material thickness values in real time. The SONUS EVO meets rigorous standards of performance, undergoing blind trials against industrial benchmarks and demonstrating its efficacy in structured environments.
EMAT Probes
SONOBOTICS - Single-Channel Linearly Polarised EMAT Probe for SONUS EVO Systems
The Single-Channel Linearly Polarised EMAT probe, designed by SONOBOTICS LTD, is specifically engineered for integration with the SONUS EVO and EVO Lite acquisition systems. This probe specializes in generating horizontally polarized shear (SH) waves in a single orientation, which is crucial for precise thickness measurement applications. With a linear polarization and a 10 mm x 10 mm aperture, it boasts a lift-off tolerance of up to 2.5 mm. The probe operates within a frequency range of 3 to 5 MHz and is adept at measuring materials ranging from 2 mm to over 100 mm in thickness. Its robust design includes an operational temperature range from -10°C to 120°C, with limited duration handling at peak temperatures. The EMAT probe connects via a 2 Pin Lemo 0B connector and maintains a compact form factor with dimensions 58 mm by 38 mm by 39 mm and a weight of 142 grams.
SONOBOTICS - Dual-Channel Linearly Polarised EMAT Probe for SONUS EVO Systems
The Dual-Channel Linearly Polarised EMAT probe is specifically designed for compatibility with the SONUS EVO and EVO Lite systems, offering enhanced functionality for ultrasonic testing applications. It utilizes shear horizontal (SH) wave generation in dual orientations, facilitating simultaneous thickness measurement and crack detection. This dual-channel approach also aids in determining defect orientation and assessing material anisotropy, key for thorough structural analysis. Technically, it features a linear polarization with an aperture of 10 mm by 10 mm and can endure a lift-off tolerance of up to 2.5 mm. Operating across a frequency range of 3 to 5 MHz, the probe supports a thickness measurement range from 2 mm to over 100 mm and can detect crack depths as shallow as 1 mm. It is designed for temperatures ranging from -10°C to 120°C and includes 2x 2 Pin Lemo 0B connectors, adding to its robust, versatile profile.
